The ML in The First Frost is the brother of the FL in Hidden Love. The First Frost is about his love story where as Hidden Love was about his sisters. Shared Universe basically means that sense characters from both stories are related that there can be crossovers with characters from the other story in this story and interactions between them.

FL, ML the parents and the college roommates/friends from Hidden Love all appear in The First Frost though they are played by different actors. Even Sang Yan is played by a different actor.

Thame never went to Korea, he was supposed to go after MARS had their farewell concert. Pemika just separated him from the rest of the group until after the concert.

Every time Thame and Po were on the roof I'm pretty sure it was after hours because it was dark every time they met there.

And Po was just hoping that Thame would be there because he honestly didn't know where else to look for Thame. Pemika wouldn't let Thame contact anyone and no one knew where he was living/staying or even when/where he was working. They said that Thame had to work separate from the rest of the group and Pemika monitored him all the time to make sure he didn't contact/see anyone. She even changed all his contacts so no one could get in touch with him. The only person besides Pemika that knew where Thame was and how to get in touch with him was Mick which is why Po went to him for help.

Yes unfortunately, SML is brother of FL best friend and has liked FL since they were kids. They grew up together and their families are close. Both moms want FL and SML to get married but FL is very honest and tells them all that she will not marry him and does not like him that she likes someone else. SML is pretty annoying at first always showing up everywhere FL is and inserting himself into everything she does especially when it involves ML. He knows FL doesn't like him but is delusional and thinks that as long as he is persistent or as long as she is still single that he might eventually have a chance. But the good thing is as soon as FL and Ml get together he accepts it and respects/supports their relationship. He backs off and even defends their relationship to FL parents (especially her mom) who doesn't accept ML and still wants FL to marry SML.

1- SML has liked FL since they were kids but she never likes him. The most intense part of it is FL mom trying to pressure her to marry SML but she tells her mom that she won't marry him and she never gives in to her mom's wishes.

In Dating in the Kitchen it is the opposite. FL family accepts ML but his mom does not accept FL. Takes every opportunity to put her down and humiliate her in front of others even offered her money to break up with the ML.

Because his name is really Jay. Mark explained in an interview that Jay pronounces his own name as Jway because he thinks it is more unique than Jay.

To your first point- I didn't even think about it being a rhetorical question and that's possible.

Second- I get that it wasn't a reason in her mind but isn't it quite common in that culture? so the fact that she didn't know that still makes me go huh?

Third- She behaved so BADLY!! Maybe he felt that he couldn't distance himself from the parents without distancing himself from her? I mean her parents (especially her mom) seems to me like if she knew they were still together she would always be popping up just to remind him of her disapproval. She just seems like that kind of person to me

Fourth-That may be true but honestly who could stand being talked to/about and treated that way? It would take a very mentally and emotionally strong person to not be bothered or affected by that.

Fifth- I can agree that the way he is handling it isn't right or fair. Maybe after both Nanfeng and his sister talked to him it will get through to him?

I hope it doesn't last long with only 5 episodes left.

What I mean by her acting clueless is when she called her friend asking why he broke up with her. If she really knew why he was upset then I feel like she should have understood why.

And plus she was looking up if people break up because of differences in family backgrounds, status and finances. That just made her look a bit clueless in my opinion. But of course that is just my opinion.

I can understand why she is upset but I can also understand him. If he didn't distance himself would he keep being humiliated and treated badly by her parents? Would Wei Zhi keep allowing it? Plus the disapproval and harsh treatment from her parents would just cause stress to him while he is trying to better himself and would end up causing a strain on his and Wei Zhi's relationship over time.

She was welcomed by his family with open arms so she hasn't had to feel what he felt when being talked to/treated that way by her parents. And because she never experienced it then she can't really understand how he is feeling. And trying to convince him that her mother and her rude/mean behavior shouldn't bother him? Yeah that is easier said than done. It's not always easy to not let someone's mean words/actions bother you. And her telling him that is basically like telling him to just accept her mom's rude behavior and endure it.

I do agree though that he should have made his intentions clear. Although he did say be apart for a while which implies that after a while they could be together again but I get that with the ghosting it makes it seem like a real and permanent break up. I shouldn't have said she deserved to be ghosted that was harsh but he didn't deserve to be treated like that by her parents either. Hopefully they will talk soon and clarify things and hopefully they won't be apart for long.

It makes me sick as well. I really don't mean any disrespect but I just can't agree with that. And I would never date someone who not only let their family treat me that way but also defended their actions.

After episode 17 of this series nope clearly Wei Zhi is more childish and not near as brave as Sang Zhi (at least not right now) but hopefully she gets brave soon. Don't know if you've seen episode 17 yet so won't say too much.

But even before episode 17 there was still the difference in the age of the characters. Sang Zhi was 19 whereas Wei Zhi is 25. You should expect a 19 year old to be more childish than a 25 year old considering that a 19 year old is barely adult. But a 25 year old has been an adult for years now and therefore should know how to act like a mature adult and not act childish.

Don't get me wrong I like this show and I like Esther Yu and I'm not hating on her, just pointing out the differences in the characters.

I'm sorry but IMO the way Wei Zhi just sat there and let her parents (especially her mom) talk to him and treat him in front of his sister and Yiming and then defended the mom by saying "she's soft on the inside". Wei Zhi deserves to be ghosted for a bit. There is no defense for her mom's actions, she was completely rude and disrespectful. I understand being worried about her daughter but there is a proper way to talk to and treat people and that's not it. And for Wei Zhi to excuse and defend her mom's behavior is not ok. And then she acted clueless as to why Shan Chong is upset? Who wouldn't be after being treated like that and then for his girlfriend to basically not even care about how it made him felt and defend her mom. I know it's her mom but still wrong is wrong and you shouldn't defend wrong actions/behaviors that will just encourage more bad/wrong behavior.

I do agree about the nasty Wang guy though. It's about time he gets taken down!
