I have mixed feelings about this one!! done with all episodes but I am not happy with how the ending was. the…
Yeah I still enjoyed the drama but it would have been much more satisfying if they added just a few extra minutes with some scenes of the other characters in the last episode. Like maybe He Lian Jue/Meng Ying Lu's wedding, Meng Shao Jue locking eyes with another girl at the wedding (to imply he'll find his happy ending too)...then most importantly I want to see a scene of A Zi leaving the palace to leave behind the bad memories, wandering around jianghu, and finding Yuwen Xiu again! (I don't even need much, just a quick scene of them locking eyes with each other to imply that there's hope for them would be ok! Now I just have to imagine that scene in my head. The one good thing was they didn't let Yuwen Xiu just die in that cave and A Zi lived in the new revised storyline so I guess we can still consider theirs to be a somewhat open ending...)

Just finished watching this and I am happy the main two characters got their happy ending but I can't get over Yuwen Xiu/A Zi, their ending hurt my heart...first of all, I am an absolute sucker for the "prince and princess from enemy kingdoms fall in love" trope! Even though this trope is pretty much destined to be tragic, I always hope against hope that they can somehow overcome the odds and get their happy ending. At least both characters survived, so I'm going to imagine that after everything that happened, A Zi decided to leave the palace after some time and roam the jianghu. Yuwen Xiu returns to the area where his former kingdom used to be and stays there to help his people. Maybe after a couple of years A Zi finds herself also in that area, they meet each other again, A Zi forgives Yuwen Xiu and they end up together. (After all, despite scheming against her kingdom/family, in the end Yuwen Xiu did not actually harm anyone in her family and he gave up the political schemes once he realized the emperor was not really at fault in the destruction of his kingdom.) At the end I just really wished the director could have thrown us a bone and added a one-minute scene of Yuwen Xiu/A Zi seeing each other again after a few years...

Title Paper Roses
I like this drama because of the script. I can say well written and executed. The motivation of the ML at first…
Actually, the director said the first part did well so they are planning to film part 2 with the same cast in late September! :)

love this CP but the editing for the show was very weird and made it hard to follow 😭
I realized that the free versions available to watch all seem to be missing 5 episodes (intermittently throughout), if you watched that version it might explain why the "editing" seems abrupt.
