Work Harder even if you won the Lottery
This is another office-related story, though without a love story, I enjoyed the dynamics between the characters:
1. Gong Eun Tae - a young excellent and dedicated employee who rose from the ranks leading Sales Team 5. His life may be monotonous, but an instant win from lottery somehow made him think differently. We can see his transformation from trying to meet the sales to being a truly team leader. He learned to value each person in his team and acknowledged that he won't be able to accomplish much without them.
2. Mr. Jung - his friend who led Team 4, eventually became their competitor. Despite of the loss with Hongseung, he still got a second chance. He remained a friend of Eun Tae.
3. Mr. Jang - even if he is Eun Tae's superior, they have this friendly relationship. Eun Tae still is respectful to him.
4. Mr. Yang - he may have triggered something in Eun Tae. It was good that with the help of Mr. Jang, they move Gong and Yang created some kind of tension in the office - a good one to make Hongseung fight against CGM.
5. Lee Ji Hye - I like that they have this character. Somehow, every team has a newbie, a contractual worker whose future may be unsure. Though Eun Tae wasn't able to secure her permanent position, something better opened up for her.
Winning the lottery didn't' change Eun Tae's attitude about work. What changed is his attitude towards the people he worked with. He learned to be a true team leader, an asset to the company which earned him a promotion. He said he can work like this even without money. He did not become lax just because he has something to fall back.
I think having these leads - Lee Jun Hyuk, Seo Hyeon Woo and Oh Dae Hwan - gave us the dynamics of men who strategize without using any force or violence (though there are scenes that may erupt into a violence). The look, the stare, the conversations have made their characters believable. Am not so much impressed with Park Bo Kyung in her portrayal as their manager. At first, I thought her character and that of Mr. Jang are at equal footing. Maybe because I might be thinking of a fiercer woman being in that position. Perhaps, we see a different side of Upper Management attitude - no power-tripping yet knows where they should stand according to the company structure.
There's just one question in mind - I wonder if in real life, those who win a lottery would have the same mindset as Gong Eun Tae?
