it’s an ironic depiction of god; shown as a helpless, sick girl with a heart condition. technically, she should be dead, but she’s alive because humans need her and call for her. she exists because humans created her, but at what cost? so much pain and suffering.

In hindsight, it might sound like a stupid deal to accept, but the FL is dying anyway but has a chance to die after living her best life (she can’t escape her fate) and she’s desperate and also sick of the world like the ML, who, btw also wants nothing to do with the world, so what can I say?

The storyline will most likely all boil down to whether the MCs are so incredibly selfish to end the entire world or if they realize they’re being stupid, especially when the forbidden romance complicates things even further.

While re-watching the first two episodes to understand the plot better (and because Seo In Guk is serving some set-fire-to-my-soul visuals that I simply cannot get enough of, but yeah, before I digress...) I came across an interesting little detail!

MM appeared at her door at 3:33 AM. A quick google search will let you know 333 is a symbolic message that your prayers have been heard and answered. HA! The perfect time for your fate to come to you, I reckon? Apt! ;)

You mean if she asks for something else for her 2nd wish? I don’t think that is likely to happen, since the entire contract is a give-and-take one. Plus, that would be a breach of contract. The only thing MM gets or wants out of this entire deal is the end of his life, and that’s why he’s already going above and beyond by giving her a promise and an additional wish. We can say that what he’s willing to do for her, is sort of a bribe to ensure she makes that second wish of the world’s end.

I can’t be too sure of what would happen exactly if she makes a different second wish regardless, but unless she makes a wish to keep her alive, TDK will die anyway after her 100 days are up.

Can’t say anything about MM, but then everything he did would be in vain. Or perhaps since she didn’t stick to the original terms of the deal, it would mean she never made the pre-determined wish, leading to her and her most loved one’s (i.e. MM’s) death either way... you know, the course of events that would take place if she chose not to make the wish at all? (By the way, there is one thing I’m not certain of here in this case: whether her doom gets transferred to the loved one only OR if both get doomed.)

I think everything would be revealed gradually in the upcoming episodes. It’s true; it is quite a confusing and complex plot to understand in the first go, plus there are lots of possible variables in such fantasy dramas. I re-watched the released episodes in parts to understand it better as well, lol. Can’t wait for the tale to unravel.

Myeol Mang (literally, the doom incarnate) strikes a deal with terminally sick Tak Dong Kyung, and by their contract;

- MM promises to ensure that the remaining 100 days of the life will be painless.
- In addition to that, he will grant her a wish of her choice.
- In exchange, TDK, before the end of her life, would make wish to end the world, ending MM’s suffering once and for all.
- If she doesn’t make the wish in time, then with her, the person she loves the most at the moment will die. (I’d like to add that I’m not quite certain if both she and her loved one would die or just the loved one.)

So basically, he’s granting her a total of two wishes - first, of her choice; second, to end the world. TDK had already drunkenly wished on a shooting star, but she needs to say it sober to his face once more for him to grant it. So he does have the power to end the world, just needs a client to explicitly demand for it since he cannot do it out of his own will but only a human’s. And yes, MM is deliberately trying to set himself up to die because he is sick and tired of bringing pain and suffering, and existing solely for humans. So whether or not she makes the wish isn’t important; he will die either way (assuming that TDK ends up falling for MM). That’s what he wants.

Oh, and as for what happened with her ex; that was nothing, really. TDK screamed, “Get out of my life!” and MM asked if that was what she was going to use her wish for. TDK denied, saying she doesn’t want to waste it on him.

Right now, that’s what he wants: to die. I think he’s trying to set up a win-sin situation for himself, so yeah, he’s probably fully aware of what he’s doing. Like, he will die either way; whether or not TDK makes the wish of ending the world or not. But when he falls for her, he would want to live for her and become human. I guess that’s about it.

Either way, whatever happens - whether or not she makes her wish in time - MM will die. He just wants to end his life; end his suffering. That’s why he’s so desperately trying to persuade TDK.
