And what makes this ending so much more frustrating is the amount of time I and countless others have spent pining over this show. I've spent hours refreshing the MDL page, twitter, reddit just so I could read through episode, scene, and character analyses written by countless geniuses, that predicted a JiDal ending. I'm not necessarily upset that they didn't end up together (more so that HJP didn't get his well deserved happy ending), but when you have that many hints and clues about fate and destiny bringing two people together, just to do a 180 and go down a path that reinforces many problematic messages, I legit feel fooled to the core. Like that was the point....to just drag viewers along for this shitshow of a drama? What happened to the noodles.....and the bat...and the ball...and the ajumma from the bar...and Yeongshil's predictions...and the references to other shows about longterm friends getting together....Like I'm sure some of these might have been us trying to reach for some sort of indication of a JiDal ending. But there's no way THIS many clues were dropped along the way for it all to be "accidental." As a fan of the writer's previous works, this has been a massive disappointment. I've lost a lot of respect for her and for her own sake, I'd suggest she stop thinking that her viewers are complete imbeciles capable of eating up whatever crap she serves.

P.S Ji Pyonga...Seon Ho...I love you baby, this rant doesn't involve you.

I have a quick question regarding the characterization of Seo Dal Mi. There's been many instances throughout the episodes where I really couldn't get any idea as to what's going on in her head. If it weren't for the analysis of certain soundtracks playing in the backdrop I wouldn't have a clue as to what to expect from her. Do ya'll think that's just the way the character is (hard to read) or because of Suzy's acting skills (no shade meant to Suzy btw)?

From Dodal to Saha ChulSan. Zero chemistry. The casting has been terrible.
And the one casting that has been correct, KSH as HJP, is probs the only great thing this show has done

Is anyone else genuinely not looking forward to SamSan tech reuniting. Like I'm sure they've all grown over the three year gap and can work a lot better together, but at this point, I just don't care at all. Am i alone in this?

I never said his character wasn't realistic...it is....it's just how he doesn't face any consequences that is unrealistic. Hope that makes sense. I agree that Dosan hit HJP because of the reasons you stated but that doesn't make it right. If such a thing happened at a work setting, regardless of the reason, Dosan would've been fired. That didn't happen on the show...he got a great job and moved to San Francisco.

If they somehow properly wrap up his brother's past, that'd be great, but overall I don't think that should have been included. I don't believe that Dosan's character is unrealistic at all, in fact there are many Dosan's out there in the real world. The issue is, irl, Dosan would've faced a lot of repercussions for the kind of behavior he exhibited (smashing the glass against Won in Jae's father's desk, punching the table when talking to Alex, literally punching HJP (his MENTOR) when he didn't even do anything wrong). Sure, he's young and unexperienced and learning, but how is any growth possible when what he's done wrong hasn't even been brought to his attention. Literally everyone around him is blind to his actions and he gets away with far too much.

It does, but definitely not as much as it should. There were quite a lot of scenes regarding the business that were either horribly done or just skipped over
- lack of quality regarding demo day
- any details about won in jae's business as she's one of the main leads
- the mistake around SamSan tech's decision to sign the contract with Alex (out of character for Dalmi to not talk about it with HJP, and Sa ha is literally a lawyer yet failed to catch it)
- The fact that it only took one day for the contract to be signed when irl it would take a lot longer
- Dosan's violent behavior and not getting any repercussions for it is not the least bit realistic
These are just a few to name. Sure, they all revolve around business but that's not enough. The writing and development of characters have all gone downhill since Hack-a-thon, and smaller plot points like Yong san's brother's past, could have just been completely done away with, because I honestly can't figure out the point behind it.
As a result, we're left contemplating the romantic endgame or just complaining about the many plot holes/inaccurate depictions of business this show has.

and why many of you focus on love alone. the title is "start up" so obviously you also have to pay attention to…
The only reason so many people focus on the love aspect alone is because that's the only thing that's been fed to us this entire time. If the show primarily focused on the the development of the business, personal growth, etc. (which they haven't) we would have other things to talk about. But unfortunately as the case stands, 12 episodes in, and all we have is the damn love triangle and characters making really stupid decisions.
