Me & Thee

Albeit, I'm not much for Thai dramas, so take this review with a grain of salt.

I wasn't too impressed by the story as nothing was really intriguing about it. Thee's actor did amazing at portraying a silly, longing golden-retriever boyfriend. While Peach's actor was great at portraying a fluffy and kind character, I felt like his feelings towards Thee were a little understated.

This seems to be due to writing. Instead of playing along with Thee, oftentimes Peach would just... shoot him down? This leads to a lot of moments which are funny, but lack any true romantic depth.

For what it is I really enjoyed the side characters in this drama.

A Thrill Ride

Makes you hate one lead, then another.

It wasn't until about half way through the first intimacy scene that I really understood this drama. The character motivations seemed a bit blurry at first. However, it's undeniable that both actors are amazing at portraying burning passion - both for eachother and for what they do.

What really sold me for this drama was the ending. Now, I'm not much for open endings, but the passion and feeling the ending brought up in me was something else. Originally, I was expecting a bad ending. However, I'm glad they took the open ending approach of only slightly understanding the leads relationship. It felt a lot more mature than a puppy love ending or going ghost.

A very typical Japanese BL

It feels like all Japanese BL have basically the same plot structure, especially the HS romance ones. This one was no exception. I did not find anything particularly stand-out about this drama besides the amazing chemistry between the leads and the fun friendship dynamics. Otherwise, it's just another drama. The production value was obviously pretty mid (which is ok... BL & GL typically don't get the same care in the entertainment industry unfortunately).

In the bonus episodes 11 and 12, I was a little discomforted by the slightly sexual connotations of some of the scenes. While nothing was outright sexual, it was enough to raise my eyebrows considering the leads were highschoolers. However, I think it was generally appropriate for their age group to most people.

I will say that the popular male lead was not very... expressive. However, I felt Hioki was very expressive and deserved his times to shine!

Interesting Change for Romance Dramas

Instantly knew I would enjoy this drama as the cozy vibes are off the scale. While the seasons focus of the drama is a bit cliché, I feel like it suits the message of the drama well.we'll.

Both leads are incredibly attractive in their own ways, and Ruohan has impeccable acting skills. However, I felt that Linghe's acting wasn't always completely believable. While the tension was undeniably high in the first half of the drama, I felt as though the chemistry was a bit lackluster after they actually got together. However, their relationship was still clearly feel-good & romantic, so I was happy regardless.

I think the focus on TCM was very interesting, and I felt almost compelled to research more into it. I like that each episode started with a different TCM medicinal ingredient.

I was glad to see that Xifan had her own ambitions in life and did not compromise them for a man. The focus on individuality in this drama was really nice, although with the slightly underdeveloped ending I felt that it could have been emphasized even more.

I did not like the almost unconsentual kiss scene, and the way that they brushed it off as some cute puppy love moment.

I grew to enjoy the side characters more than the main characters at some points during this drama. Xiangya and Senior Lin were great friends and their chemistry was also cute, despite not having as much development. I also loved the family of the leads.

Overall, this was such a cozy, feel-good watch. Despite having some gripes, I loved getting attached to all of these characters!

(P.S. Don't look at my rematch value rating. I rarely ever rematch dramas. ^^)
