"The Road to Splendor is way too good compared to Pursuit of Jade”Someone said this on a post and most people…
POJ for the sizzle 🔥 couple relationship and giddy moments. It was pretty much a love story, with equally enjoyable comedic timings. There are romantic moments that really tugged on my heartstrings in a way that TRTS can’t. After all, it is more dramatic in style than TRTS.
TRTS has a better overall story and “mature” couple, where the politics is well paced and intertwined with the couple’s own story. BUT, it doesn’t give the same satisfaction as POJ in the romantic comedy part.
I think they’re just 2 different kind of dramas that I enjoy in their own way, but they scratch a different itch. I loved POJ for the couple while I enjoy TRTS for the balanced storyline and strong characters.
TY supporting a different candidate for the Imperial Censor was a not a form of defiance or going against ZL.…
Re: Grand Secretary Tian, I think it is the last one. He has no connection/ties with ZL and he is either supportive of the Emperor or he is the foil / opposition party to minister Yu (Madame Yu’s husband).
The latest ep was unexpectedly satisfying?! I loved how they talked honestly. Even though Changyu still seems uncertain, it is Xie Zheng’s turn to be more upfront with his feelings now that the charade is up. I’m just loving how their story is progressing right now, but also scared it can go downhill from here 😭
I love Pursuit of Jade—don’t get me wrong. Changyu is a compelling character, especially considering how much…
I can’t remember if she’s seen him fight apart from that time at the gate when he put on a mask, so it’s understandable she doesn’t know his abilities. She’s gotten used to fighting better than most men around her. So I can’t fault her for not thinking he is an excellent fighter.
She also seems to be driven by her recent experience in losing people in her hometown and losing Changning for a while. It looks like her fear in losing him is the main reason for the stupid decision to drug him 😅

I wonder how much I will cry tomorrow
