sehyun, who’s endured being a mono all alone while taking care of his little sister(who btw recently died), mummified lying in a hospital bed w all his bones shattered: iM fInE gUyS 🤪
oops I actually liked this. I didn’t expect the comments to be so bad lmao I admit it’s very messy at times but things I LOVED: Yeongwu being stuck in life (I’m a sucker for every character who feels lost after graduating bc same), the relationship with the dad (and how affectionate he was!!), their relationship moving kinda fast?, and the time skip was actually good?? (I HATE time skips usually and groaned as soon as I saw that loathed “1 year later” but it actially felt like time passed without it being a too dramtic change. Yeongwu getting more confident because he continued working as a model & was kind of heading somewhere with his life, and him being actually kinda upset at Gijin (even though it was only a little while) and Gijin apologizing. Small steps I guess but most kdramas just throw in the timeskip and either nothing changed or everything did (without being able to understand as to why) and no one says sorry for ghosting them for a year lol
somehow this gave me "Run On" vibes at times?? not the script or plot (god no lol) but the acting and tempo & soft lighting in some scenes. it felt like they were kind of going for that more realistic type of feel too but again it just feels off with that kind of plot. it would have worked better with a more comedic over the top vibe instead.
the way they potrayed and handled ocd in this was the best ive seen in dramas so far!! obviously still an extreme case but it worked well, the development was slow and realistic and they even explained it as a mental illness and not just ~a quirky character trait~
No, it's different in gemany. At least one parent has to have german nationality for the child to get german nationality…
Honestly german law is confusing at times and people have been pushing to change this part of it (bc it's stupid) but it's just unlikely in her case. Like I'm the same age as her and when I grew up this was very common (still is probably). Idk 100% about the legal residency thing but from my understanding it just means they're elligble for german citizenship (you still have to take an exam and do a bunch of paperwork for it). So yeah just some context but either way she's still german, just probably not on paper
It's a very silce of life type of drama. If you're on 9 and think it's boring, I'd drop it. There are obviously things that happen later on but the way they happen is not dramatic.
this is my new comfort drama! it had so many powerful messages while also being incredibly soft. ive never seen a drama quite like it. everything felt very real without being too harsh, and the writing was phenomenal! also they did such a good job with the asexual character :)
Why isn't anyone talking about the blatant transphobia in episode 11? the female lead OUTED HIM to family who…
YES!!! I'm usually pretty forgiving with mediocre lgbt representation in dramas but I was SO uncomfortable with this one that I couldn't finish it. They even comment on the FL "being so supportive of same-sex couples" in the beginning and then she can't even do the bare minimum? Idk how it ends (if it doesnt end with Wanjoon living her best life freely in Paris I don't want to know either) and yeah Wanjoon's an ass (and the FL thought he killed her mom) but up until ep 13 they just threated trans issues like some trendy plot device. I watched it on Viki and the timed comments were celebrating while as part of the lgbt my heart was breaking
I liked how they kept poking fun at how cliche the drama is & at times it surprised me by not following the typical kdrama plot point. Like I was getting ready to drop it at the car accident part bc I thought someone would get amnesia. & Seojoon asking Suho for permission to confess to his girlfriend was so cool. BUT the whole Soojin jealousy thing was terrible & felt out of place, and I only managed to skip through the last two eps because what they did to Seojoon with that 2 year time jump was OUT OF POCKET.
i was hesitant to watch this because i dont have a good relationship with my own father. but after rewatching hotel del luna i was reminded that clearly lee dohyun in a main role is enough to at least make me give it a shot. i won't lie, i did skip around a lot more than usual, but the writing and the acting were so insanely well done, i wanted to keep watching. with the way the plot is set up, i didn't feel forced to root for the dad from the get go. and before i knew it i found myself hoping it will all work out for him.
i was blown away by this drama. the characters were written so well. they had clear motives and especially the main leads felt so real. the overall feminist/defying social and family expectations themes were masterfully done. and of course, the romance was chef's kiss. the development of their relationships was so natural and i love how they're opposites despite none of them being a mean/cold character. their scenes together were so beautiful and i honestly don't know who i swooned over more.
