I kinda feel like the real love triangle is between Ying Yuan, Yan Dan and Tang Zhou. Both Ying Yuan's love and Tang Zhou's love are pure, sincere and true towards Yan Dan just like what Cheng Yi said on his interview.
From Ying Yuan's perspective - Ying Yuan fails to do what Tang Zhou just done for Yan Dan, choose her over his responsibilities. But Ying Yuan is a Sovereign Lord of Heavenly Realm, he was brainwashed by Heavenly Emperor for his whole life (more than 10,000 years), he was never loved nor loved someone until he met Yan Dan. - His responsibilities and duties are much more bigger than TZ, TZ can give up easily as if TZ can't be the future chief of the sect, other will. But for YY, it's different. No one can replace the Sovereign Lord's place easily. Also, the Heaven lost 3 other Sovereign Lords, Jidu Star Lord and Bei Ming. The heaven can't lose YY again too, moreover, the leader, Heavenly Emperor also turns out to be evil! YY is holding everyone's life in his hand including immortals, mortals, demons and spirits. - He never had experienced love before so he made a lot of mistake and ended up losing Yan Dan who is now resenting him, hating him and misunderstanding him for leaving her. From Yan Dan's perspective - She cut out half of her heart, punished by the thunders, was framed by her own sister, jumped off the Bridge of Emptiness, was tortured in the Night Forgetting River for almost 900 years. What hurt her the most is that YY said he never loves her whether in the Yanxu Heavenly Palace or Land Under The Horizon. - She was just the lotus fairy who was carefree, never interested in power and always stayed behind her sister. But she knows abt the love more than YY who is the Emperor, more mature than her, had lived for more than thousand of years but, she clearly understand what love means. - She can suffer any torture and punishment but she just only wants love back from YY, she only wants him to choose her once over the responsibilities (which TZ finally brings justice to her). - She truly loves YY regardless of her life, now in later episodes, she will also try to understand YY, will follow the desire what YY wants to choose. Even if she resends YY, u can see she was so happy abt TZ's poem of composing sentences with her name, her heart couldn't stay mad at him. Also, in EP 41, her happiness, her sweet smile through pain when TZ finally chooses her. That's the only thing she ever wanted.
From Tang Zhou perspective - Among the three of them, he is the most pitiful character. He was hunted by the girl in his dreams for his life, fell in love with a flower demon, willing to give up his life for her, even his sect, he let his master down just for one and only Yan Dan. - He has no idea why Yan Dan suddenly turned her back on him, avoiding him and was rejected many times. Even if she rejects him, he still cares abt her well being, silently watching her from far away, saw his beloved with other people, can you imagine how hurt he was during those times. - He's always alone, Yan Dan has Yelen Mountain to protect her and care for her but what about Tang Zhou? He has no one, that chief of the sect only uses him for his own good, Tang Zhou is always alone, he only has Yan Dan but now she also left him in the dark. No one cares or asks abt how he's doing including Yan Dan. She never called out his name nor asked abt him, still bitter me, I'm sorry if I offence you, but this time, she's so heartless towards him during EP 40. - It's not Tang Zhou who said those hurtful words on the Bridge of Emptiness, it's not Tang Zhou who said he only cares abt Three Realms, it's not Tang Zhou who gives Yan Dan hopes after hopes but destroys in front of her eyes many times, that's Ying Yuan. Tang Zhou has no memory, he is just a normal human like us. BUT WHY!? Yan Dan shouldn't treat him that way but again, my girl ain't wrong tho!!

First, that b**ch took the credit and now she framed Yan Dan (dumbass sister). - Then she jumped off the Bridge of Emptiness as Ying Yuan told that he never loved her, now she was thinking YY never loved her once so his last word hurt her the most and that's why she jumped off from the bridge because of that pain.

Don't misunderstand me, I really love IS a lot and will always be, but u know, this's just the opinion of the viewer! - The total disappointment is that wedding scene with YD and TZ wearing red attire is ACTUALLY A DREAM!? I keep waiting for several days just to find out that....like come on, YD, TZ and YY love story is the most essential! - Secondly, I was so excited when I saw the ep 34 trailer where TZ was stroking YD's cheek but it turns out to be A FREAKING DREAM AGAIN and it's YUMO!! (I'm so sorry if I make some people angry, pls understand my opinion) - I totally love Yu Mo's character as he's one of the nicest and walking green flag SMLs but if he keeps staying beside YD and TZ, we will only have less chances of romance between YD and TZ.
