my demon itself being a remake of goblin , cheap office romance , boring ass scenes and usage of the whole goblin trope in general , indeed your taste is debatable , of course you wouldnt like this lmao
GOBLIN: THE LONELY AND THE GREAT GOD ! good lordddd , i dont think people understand how well crafted and ahead of its time this drama has been to the point no current drama years later has touched it's level. you cannot absolutely convince me at all that this isnt the best sad and hopeless story ever witnessed. recently i have been into goblin slump and rewatching it many times i realized kim shin's story was even more cruel and excruciating than we can fathom tbh. imagine serving your country only to get slaughtered in false accusations , along with witnessing your loved one die , if that was not enough , receiving the punishment of being immortal and having the memory of the great destruction carried onto forever with you , adding to the misery you have a sword pierced into your chest that can be pulled out by certain someone ONLY. /sighs can things get more cruel for him?
and suffering the worst wrath of fate , you finally meet your bride destined to return you to peace and serenity but moves are made & you find yourself falling for the person itself who was supposed to be your salvation , your redemption, you now, become greedy and wants to cross the boundary drawn by fate challenging your whole destiny , for once you want to live again with the person who makes your heart race between earth and heaven ( reference!;) but as usual , nothing happens out of order and as things take turn and everything falls back into place leading to goblin finally retuning to nothingness. its irony that his nothingness was supposed to make him at peace but here also he felt nothing but pain of a thousand swords slashing him .
luck favors the couple and now we have kim shin back to his bride to his beloved to his only first love , and as he quoted '' after living like that for a thousand years , on a day that just felt right , on that day i wish i could tell that she was my first love '' comes true , since fate was never at their side , ji eun tak gives a sad answer to this awful fate and falling into a life taking tragedy and this is how their first loop of love ended.
can you imagine anything more painful? for me . i guess not.
we as viewers were satiated when ji eun tak is reborn , meeting her ahjusshi in the maple nation where everything began , where the tragedy birthed , where the greatest love story happened between THE GREAT GOD & MISCELLANEOUSLY OMITTED ONE.
