The evil princess Wanning is treating Li Jin like a simp especially that shrimp scene. Is Li Jin going to lose it at some point with her? SYR was so happy after Wanning married Li Jin, he was like bro its your problem now.

He is, perhaps the princess and him deserve each other!

The character of SYR is a covert vulnerable narcissist, he is constantly justifying every bad horrible thing he does because he was just trying to save his sister and mother or his hand was forced like a victim. His teary eyes and longing looks to the FL shows one side of his vulnerability but another side of him believing his own BS in justifying killing her and harming her family. JL/XFF shows a different path can be taken without just bending to the forces at will (it is arguable on how realistic it is in real life but indulge me in the underdog having the upper hand for once). Maybe he didn't intentionally start out this way but his desire to rise as an palace official and his willingness to continue to sacrifice his romantic partners shows how unreliable and untrustworthy he is. The actor does a wonderful job portraying him as a tortured conflicted soul who is infinitely corruptible while maintaining a veneer of an upright scholar and official.

This is binge worthy, now I can understand some commenters talking about that! To me, its unique when the FL seeks justice not just for herself but for Jiang Li. Jiang Li isn't just forgotten when the FL takes on her character after their fates intertwine, JL is an important person the FL respects and remembers. I also can't wait for more interactions with the ML to see how it pans out, I haven't gotten to that yet.

I'm in the first episode and not bad, definitely high production with big name FL. I was at one point expecting a face, body, or soul swap again since that has been done so much lately but nice to know they didn't go that direction.

It's a shame that happened with her as some found her videos to be soothing and pretty different from city life that most people are stuck in. Haha, I guess it was just me that found the scenes of ML doing the cooking to be a little like the country rural living influencers. The food he made for the FL when she was a bird looked pretty good 😁

Is it me or did the first few episodes when the ML was cooking and doing some household chores seem to be similar in feel to Li ZiQi influencer on her rural life routines? LOL.

I agree, most of the time I'm not a fan of BGM but this drama OST is fire!

It looks like the grandfather's girlfriend might be on the sinister side of things. Multiple times she's lied but plays it off with her innocence.

i just noticed this one because I'm a sucker for desserts so I paid attention to it 😊 this show does a good job with the details.

Yay! She did a good job in her role and her character was likeable. They had great chemistry too. I like how they contrasted both female characters in the beginning and they couldn't be any more different from each other. I enjoyed both of the performances of the female actresses and celebrate the good aspects each bought to the table.

It cracked me up when the SML gave the FL a big bao bing 刨冰 (bing su) dessert with a big scoop of honey. She offers the ML one of them so he wouldn't feel bad and the ML takes the one the SML gives her just to spite the SML and leaves her with the tiny one. 🍧

When I am coming to the end of the episodes released for that the day I'm like NOOOOOOO... MORE NOW...

I agree its keeping it interesting especially as he discovers little clues that she isn't who she is.

I agree the script isn't dumb, there were multiple subtle details they made sure to tie together. It's seems they put more thought on things so like you say hopefully more will be revealed later.
