People complaining that it didn't have enough depth feel like they're just complaining to hear themselves speak.…
Haha! It's a light fun drama that doesn't even take itself seriously.

Yes there is more showing than telling. I liked how it showed the complexities of the characters such as Zhao…
Well said, the crux of it is about the lack of agency as a woman and the suffering from it back in then. The lack of agency extends beyond gender, it's about class divide with slavery and imperialistic power that can wipe out several generations of a clan even if they are nobilty.

heavy on it respects our intelligence😭 i dislike when they narrate the story instead of SHOWING us the story…
Yes there is more showing than telling. I liked how it showed the complexities of the characters such as Zhao Xing Tan (the first wife). She was despised as a villain in the first part of the story but with her back story, her aching to surpass the confines of her gender and expectations along with her redemption arc with Lan Xiang gave the viewer a much more nuanced perspective of her character and the tragic parts of her life. I felt sadness in the last scene when Lan Xiang held her hand as she passed.

The story isn't perfect and neither are the characters but this CDrama seems to go further with the quality of the story even if the actions or the personalities of some of the characters are not well received or well liked.

With her cleverness, how is she so blind to the men's feelings?
I was also puzzled by that because she is smart and clearly reads the room in every situation but she doesn't read his interest?

There's no rule to say ml can't have shade of gray or he has to be a hero. From the start they're strangers so…
Hopefully the story will be good and he will show the different sides of his character even if some of them are ugly!

he is playing Yan Rui, the corrupt character. dont worry, that is his disguise coz he has a real mission from…
As entertainment it is far more intriguing when they play more complicated roles where they aren't necessarily purely good. He definitely gave off red alarms.

I don't mind what character or personality they're supposed to play but it is not even clear what the hell was…
I haven't gotten far enough yet but I agree it wasn't clear why she was there.

I just started this after watching the trailer. Ep 1 What is going on with Xu Kai's character? He's more like a villain with some sketchy morals rather than the shining noble hero. He threatened the female lead from the start, smearing that blood over her white gown 🫤

The grandmothers are hilarious! the male leads grandmother is such a hoot and she isn't fazed by the wealth or chaebol families. Yeo Ri's grandmother is normally subdued but even she got into the pit to pump up her grand daughter!

he is her childhood friend i guess
Thank you for your assessment! The character as it's written and it being a fantasy romcom is about him being empathetic, pursuing her, and not pushing her away after finding about her situation even though he got some of those unwanted abilities to see ghosts. It's not real life nor reality. His character comes across clumsy, not very suave, or sophisticated romantically and crushing on her pretty hard. It's part of the charm for some viewers. She is likeable and a sweet person but she also doesn't hesitate to draw her boundaries. There was the elevator scene where they were bickering after the night at the hotel fiasco, when she exited she bumped and pushed him out of the way pretty hard.

Thank you... i definitely don't want to see him as a ghost or sick... because it will really torment her
Yes the way she cried she had more than her guilt for causing his death. She cried as if she lost someone who connected with her, emphasized with her situation, and didn't avoid her when she has been alone with this for so long. I don't commend the writers for the abrupt if not unbelievable part of this but I do commend the writers and the actor for portraying the character!

ik the post accident hospital scene didn't make sense but the comedy and the cuteness are just too good for me…
I agree! I love the banter between them too.

Title Spooky in Love Spoiler
It does feel a bit contrived with the scene where it turns out he's alive without a visible bruise or bandage along with clothes that didn't seem to match, it was made out like that as a sleight of hand to add to the suspense he's a ghost. The build up of the emotional intensity of the scene seemed disjointed.

However, it's a big relief he's alive and still fighting to develop his relationship with her. My personal opinion is I wouldn't want to see him as a ghost or in a coma but him appearing to her physically looking like he's didn't get hit by a car is a bit off. Perhaps it's arguable after he was resuscitated, he left despite being told by the hospital to stay so that he could find her and make sure she is ok.

Either way his character is likeable and relatable! I guess I will accept it is a fantasy romance haha. I thought the rest of ep 5 was funny and cute and they still executed well despite the forced suspense in the beginning. I still love the show so far ♥️.
