Nice comment ! And I hate the "free " deaths seriously, their deaths should have been more meaningful ( I am talking…
Yes, exactly! I keep thinking about it and I’m so bitter, especially thinking about how sweet and promising it all started off as. It’s like they switched writing teams halfway through, the whole tone and storyline completely changed! Glad I wasn’t the only one who thought their friends deaths were meaningless!
This is the best drama I’ve seen in a long while! Great acting, fantastic characters and so so funny (yet touching). I’ve rewatched this drama three times already! I really hope it gets a season 2 and I really really hope they bring back the same actors, directors and writers.
Drama friends: can anyone recommend a drama with a similar storyline to that of Cha Ah Ryung‘s? I don’t want to put a spoiler but the whole team/family/older brother-ish dynamic?
First time I’ve ever commented but I had to with this drama. It had so much potential, absolutely fantastic acting and romantic storyline! Then it just went haywired. It seemed they just wanted to kill everyone off and make it super melodramatic for no reason. Some of the character’s deaths weren’t even needed, IMO.
And the ending! Don’t even get me started. Why end it with a montage? Seriously???? What a cop out and it’s almost insulting to me after sitting through hours of this drama that they couldn’t even give us a neater/more satisfying ending. It was so rushed, like “they love each other and get reincarnated” but you don’t see it, but it happens. Even a chance meeting with them reincarnated or something!
I understand some writers and dramas like to leave it open and vague but there wasn’t any real resolution at all. After the horrors HDD inflicted, he drowns?! Reallllyyy??? This drama went from spectacular to a shitshow, making it basically all about HDD.
HSJ was a character with so much potential but then towards the end, she was so one dimensional, a complete victim to her fate. I firmly believe she could’ve fought back, honestly, all of the characters could’ve fought back but nooo, HDD is some ultra villain that no one can defeat except special water. Ugh.
I’m so sad and angry at the ending, but for completely different reasons than the writers probably intended.
For acting and chemistry and the romance 10/10 but for the storyline itself 5/10. I do recommend it only for the first couple of episodes (definitely re-watchable) and if you intend to finish the drama: just know going in that everyone dies, it’s all a waste, everything sucks and there’s no real closure or satisfying resolution.
