No, he's less smug because it's revealed what a complete idiot he is! I don't want to spoil but he's just comical and ever since they dialed that up, people suddenly started to like him. He's just so bad at everything that he becomes funny.

Confused about what? Kang Moo is extremely incompetent, and an ANSP agent on top of that. He constantly puts people in danger with his recklessness and unearned moral high ground. He's just the worst. He achieves absolutely nothing in 9 episodes. Later on, he'll become comic relief so I guess to some people that's enough reason to like a terrible person like him. 🤷♀️ I don't like him.

Yeah, if those ansp agents were as stupid as kang moo, maybe I can see how he killed them. Or more likely they all died for stupid dumba$s reasons and the ansp just assumed Sooho did it! In young ro's defense, she hasn't really been warm towards him since she figured out who he really is. Maybe Jisoo is not experienced enough to properly convey all the emotions or maybe we're just barely getting any reaction from her to really know how YR feels but to me, she's actually pretty disillusioned and emotionally detached now. Like she hasn't given in to his superficial acts of kindness at all. I also think her brother’s death symbolizes a separation from that initial dynamic. Like she no longer connects them as she did before. If any romance is to develop, it'll be from the very beginning again. A reintroduction between the characters. I personally think we were tricked into thinking this was romance-based. Like I just don't think it's supposed to be a deep and meaningful romance. I think this is very much a stress-based romance. Like when people fall in love really fast in wartime and such. It's that last struggle to survive for humanity. This is definitely not going to have the same quality as a slow burn well-established romance. Even based on the literary references, Romeo and Juliet's romance was a three-day event. So it's not like it was supposed to be very deep!

I'm not really connecting to the romance either. The difference between a 27yo Sooho and a 20yo Youngro just doesn't do it for me. That said,I think it makes sense that they both fell so hard so suddenly. From the start, YR kept on mentioning how SH reminds her of her brother. That meant her soft sentiments for Sooho came from her missing her brother and also because she was doing this while unconsciously hoping someone would do the same for her brother. As for Sooho, he has been in some seriously stressful situations for a good while and YR was so unconditionally kind and nurturing toward him. Given that he has less and less to latch onto, I think it makes sense that in the stressful situation he would cling to her goodness and familiarity and exaggerate their feelings. Plus like I said, I think he's actually not a great spy. Like he was terrified that day after the date when they ran into the police forces. So I don't think he's handling the pressure at all and really needs that emotional aid.
I am overly disappointed with the lack of agressiveness and fierceness this drama has had so far... only one to…
I think Sooho's reluctance to kill makes sense. He is trying to escape there alive so his logic is that if they kill any SK citizens the likelihood of getting out alive decreases. Especially when you consider the public's anger and demand for retribution. He's being political about it. I don't think he's just acting out of romantic sentiments. In addition, he doesn't trust neither NK or SK to actually save them, so if he doesn't actually harm anyone, he can make a case for himself and his comrades later. Dr. Kang who finally decided to explode the place, is not doing it because it's her duty either. Her cover was blown so she is trying to get rid of those who know. If kang moo gets out, while knowing she is a spy, she'll be in deep trouble. At this point, all the hostages in the dorm are dead meat to her.
He's such a liability. I don't get why they kept him alive. I would have killed him that very first day.
I mean the spies should've killed him because he keeps half-escaping and causing more problems. Keeping him alive makes no sense . I dislike him very much and I honestly can't wait for him to not be around anymore.
Historical controversies aside, this really wasn't that bad in the beginning from a writing stand point, like…
The fact that almost in each episode, there is a berserk shoot-out, then people scream, and still no one dies is so ridiculous. There's no tension anymore. When it happened again in episode 8, I actually started playing with my phone because I knew nothing would happen and they were just dragging out the story for no reason.
my running thoughts on ep 8: - wow, they actually killed yeong-u off - so they essentially used him as a plot…
Okay, I agree with everything you said! The writing is actually not good and the show was hyped for no reason. Standing on its own merit, it has too many small flaws to be a class A show. One thing that comes to me almost every episode is that there really shouldn't be so many main characters in this show. Especially since most of them have zero to very little character development.
Are you sure it's not just because of Jung Hae-In's kicked puppy eyes that you feel bad?!😅To be honest, I don't…
My reason for thinking he may already have fractioned loyalty is the fact that the woman sent that other spy dude to kill him if he ever strays. Makes me think he already showed something that made them question his loyalties.
I have a very controversial and bold theory that I think is supported by the show's content. Sooho is not actually that good at his job?! The reason Kang Moo couldn't catch him all these years is that Kang Moo himself is an incompetent idiot, not because Soo Ho is just such a good spy that he can escape any situation!
i guess the script is actually working because i do feel bad for soo ho. well not the trauma that he's been inflicting…
Are you sure it's not just because of Jung Hae-In's kicked puppy eyes that you feel bad?!😅 To be honest, I don't think sooho wants to die for his country but he wouldn't say that to an enemy agent. He seems to already be a bit at odds with his missions. Like he thinks his country is just giving him dumb instructions.
