Thanks for sharing that! I don't use much social media other than this site, so I really appreciate it. Looking…
Oh no. I hope it is not the end of the pairing. I did not think much when I read what the poster says. I don't fully understand how the pairing of two actors who star in Thai BLs work. I assumed that if two actors will not be working together in the future, they will simply not work together and won't have an official announcement. :(

I agree that it was somewhat satisfying for Tan to hand Rung over to Por. Given what she had done to Jane and…
Yes. The marketing as BL is because of the popularity of MaxTul and Thai BLs. To me, this is definitely not a BL. A series where relationship is through love and admiration for each other without playing into heteronormative stereotypes, and where gay men are well rounded individuals with aspirations and problems outside their love and sex life is definitely not something I would personally call BL.

OK: I stayed up all night to rewatch the series and the Finale and I've got to go to bed. One last question from…
Sorry, there is no English translation. But, here is the link for the chapters in Thai released so far:

Not Bun and Tan's story but there is a spin-off novel of Manner of Death called Euthanasia/Spare me your mercy where Bunn makes a cameo. This one has an official English translation. Here is the tweet from the author where she gives the amazon link:

Ok, so I guess that’s that as of Episode 13 with the revelation that Rungthiva is the sole killer of Jane, and…
I agree, definitely subject to interpretation.

But, they made it pretty clear about the M-Oat ship so I am hoping for S2. Also, I need S2 for other small reasons like Inspector M needs scenes where he's just hanging out with friends. He almost died.

If they make season 2 and don't have the same screenwriting-directing team, I don't think it will be good. Aside from the crime, I am certain the reason why the romance in the series was so unproblematic and respectful to the LGBT community is because of the Director Ma-Deaw Chookiat Sakveerakul.

It was definitely a little cruel on Tan's part, but I am glad the proposal happened that way mainly because the memes about how over the top Tan is since the start till the end of the series are already coming out.

They saved romantic and cheesy Bun for the end. How Tan got shy because it was the first time Bun did that was so cute.

The series changes a lot from the novel. So, it is still possible they will change a lot from Transplant the novel if they decide to make season 2 and adapt it. So, the story might still happen in Viangpha Mok, or it starts in Viangpha Mok and eventially moves to Bangkok.

Speaking of Transplant, I have started reading it and without saying spoilers for the plot, I just want to say that Bun and Tan are very domestic in it, and Bun is as romantic as Tan is. So, I think we can hope for more romantic and cheesy Bun if they make a future season.

I never thought M likes Bun in that way. I only got the vibe that Bun is respected in Viangpha Mok and since he just arrived and probably both are of similar age, M wanted to be friends with him.

That does not mean he does not like men. Introducing M and Oat as potential love interests towards the end is more natural if they are planning a season 2. If they end up having a season 2, then just introducing this ship in the last episode is good. But, if they end here then I agree with you, it came out of the blue and I would also wish there were some hints earlier on.

Sharing here because I remember someone said they don't use other social media. This was shared on MOD official twitter and other accounts affiliated to MOD:

So, my guess is that it's either a documentary onMaxTul's journey and the making of MOD, or it's a documentary on MaxTul's journey and the making of MOD + Season 2 announcement. I hope it's the second one.

unpopular opinion here: it's indeed thrilling how we got such a revolutionary plot when it comes to BL dramas,…
I don't know if that is an unpopular opinion. I don't think the series is going for a mindblowing suspense story since the storytelling decisions make the villains suspicious from the start. I believe it is going more for an over-the-top and exaggerated portrayal of the events in the story while making room for social commentary (Whether it is successful social commentary is for each viewer to personally conclude).

This series has potential for season 2 with a new story in Bangkok. I say this because the author is currently writing a new novel whose story is a new adventure for Tan and Bun.

Well, I still won't believe Rung killed her sister, even if all things and the teaser of 14 cap are against her. There…
I am convinced Rung killed Jane, mainly because they showed us the flahback and then they cut to Tan and Bun watching the recording Pued made. Also, we have only 1 ep left and I think it will be used for the final showdown in the current time without much suspense.

Not much suspense or couple moments this episode, so I can see how people found it boring. But this was the most…
Episode 13 is the most important episode for me. I also feel the same way as you about Jane. She went from being a plot device to being the entire plot of the story. I was holding my breathe the past few weeks hoping they would give Jane more agency, and they did it way better than I had imagined they would. Seeing everything unfold from her perspective before going into the finale is definitely the best storytelling the series has done, as you said.
On Still 2gether Feb 20, 2021
I watched 2gether but I haven't watched this one, mainly because of 2 reasons. The first reason is that in 2gether, female characters are just there to swoon over Sarawat, to be objectified or to create drama, and the second reason is that the actor who plays Sarawat is not a very convincing actor (maybe the other actor's good acting made it more obvious to me that Sarawat's actor is not very good). Someone please tell me if famale characters are treated better and if the actor's acting gets better in this one.

If they have season 2, my prediction is that they will complelely scratch the ex story and the going to grad school in the US story because I can't imagine the director wanting to make a basic Thai BL story. I think they will move to Bangkok and there Bunn will put himself in dangerous situations and the adventure starts there. Thad and Sorawit will be there for the same reason as outlined in the novel. Besides, given their relationship in the series, I don't think Tan will leave Thad in Viangpha Mork if he moves to Bangkok. I hope M can be featured too but I cannot come up with a reason as to why he will move to Bangkok. But, he truly needs a friend after this ordeal.
On Manner of Death Feb 16, 2021
This series would be great for creating multiple seasons. Bunn and Tan's characters have been established well in season 1. Bunn puts himself in dangerous situations and Tan is always there to help and protect him with his mafia skills. There can be multiple seasons in the line of Mad Max movies. Mad Max movies' have stories with other main characters and Mad Max is also a main character who just happens to be there. He usually plays a big role in the plot but the plot is not mainly about him. I like this concept. MOD season 1 is mainly about Jane and Rungtiwa and the sex trafficking people and the mysogynistic town, and Bunn and Tan are there playing a big role without the story being about them. So, this concept kind of makes sense to me.

Queer character get killed off so much in shows with similar concept that there is a whole name of the trope called 'Bury your gays'. But, in this series the main characters are not just gay but also confidently and unapologetically gay with everyone around them dying and being bad guys but not them. So, I definitely need more seasons of this series. If they make more seasons, I hope they would put in wlw representation but since this is supposed to be BL, I guess they won't do that.

You are right, the inclusion of Oat was probably for the novel reader's to suspect. Otherwise, they could have simply used the name of one of the existing character from the book, instead of inventing a new name.

Regarding Pued, the series did a good job of creating a character who was a good brother to Tan, a good friend to Bunn, but a terrible man to his fiance- just another pathetic man who is complicit in the things going on in this mysogynistic town. I like this portrayal. One does not have to be cartoonishly evil to be a bad person.

Regarding Rungthiva, yes that makes sense. She has shown that she only cares about herself. So, it definitely is in her character to just give everything to save herself.

---

Yes, in the book, Thad and Por were barely there and they end up playing big roles in Sorawit and Tan's lives respectively. When I was reading, I was just left wanting more.

The storyline about Bunn's ex was just weird to me also. I kept on thinking that it was going to turn out to be relevant to the crime. But, it turned out to be completely separate from it. In the series, I am really glad there is no third person involved in the romance. Once all truth comes out, Bunn and Tan stay together completely relationship drama free, and I really needed the portrayal of the relationship like that.

You are right. We definitely need to see Bunn's brother and explore his relationship with Bunn for all the reasons you pointed out. If there is season 2, it will probably be set in Bangkok and we will get to dive into Bunn's family and his relationship with them. I woud be really surprised if there is no season 2. The Thai BL's that get season 2 usually do not have any more stories to tell but this one has potential for more stories (I believe this series is not a BL, but they marketed it as a BL so I am assuming the people with money who can give us season 2 see it as a BL). We got TWN:the next chapter, so if we don't get season 2 of this series, it would be ridiculous and probably would be only because one of the main actors' contract ended and did not want to be in future seasons. But, also I would be greatly surprised if one of the main actors do not want to be in season 2 of a series that got many praises both from audience and critics. This series gained a lot of internationaly audience also. Anyway, I just hope there is season 2.

This was a good read. Thanks.

I don't usually follow celebrities so I did not wonder why they would cast the particular actor to play a small character like Oat. Probably that's why I never suspected him. I thought the creators are going for a comic relief character who wants to be close friends with Bunn but Bunn always abandons him.

With regards to Pued, do you feel that he is a sympathetic character compared to the book? I wonder what viewers in general feel about him. I find him as despicable as I found him in the book.

Like you, I also like the change in the adaptation with regards to Pued. Personally, I feel that this change to make him more of a pathetic person rather than a killer is great. In the grand scheme of things, he does not matter at all to Rungtiwa and the rest of the sex trafficking people. She killed him only because she knows he has evidence, which I really liked.

I really hope what you predicted with regards to Rungtiwa's character comes true: "Rungthiva is the one who exposes the Judge and the Congressman , alongside evidence from the SD card (copy probably made by Aem) and perhaps some more files from Jane’s email (since Tann and Bunn found her password last episode)." But, my prediction is that she is truly coldhearted and there will be no redemption.

The book lacked a lot of things when it comes to character development, even Bunn and Tan. I felt like the author had ideas about how to handle their personalities and motivations but abandoned every idea very fast. I have read some of her works after MOD and they are much better. She was probably still learning to write while writing MOD.

In the book, the crime was also not that exciting and it would have been boring if they did not change much. Jane playing a big role in the series is really great. I truly adore the decision made by the screenwriter and director to write this insanely dramatic story about the crime part (but still somehow faithful to the book) juxtaposed with two healthy and sweet romance.

I can't help but think why Bun not calling Tan , p'Taaaaaan instead of Khun when they're alone, pharm's p'Dean…
In the beginning, they called each other Khun because they see each other as two people who have a sort of equal dynamic (and being in their late 20s/early 30s, the dynamic makes sense). Basically, it did not start off with the dynamic of Bun being an older person to Tan, it started off as two adults of similar age meeting and becoming acquaintances. After they got together, they keep addressing each other the same way they used to address each other. Why would they change it to addressing each other in a way that shows someone is the other's senior...
