I’ve been thinking about this as well and came to the conclusion that Vee must have felt some kind of way about…
Thanks!
I’ve read through this discussion thread and honestly, came to some of the same main conclusions about Vee as you guys did by watching the “regular” version. I’d say Vee was interested in Mark even before they did the deed, he might’ve just not realized it himself because it wasn’t really an potion in that sense - maybe he just even pitied Mark but still, there was some kind of feeling there. But I totally agree that the director’s cut would’ve been a little easier on the brain. War’s acting was stellar from the get go but Yin’s acting is more subtle and his expressions etc. grows on you, so I had to go back to some of his scenes and rewatch those after getting a sense of the way he emotes.
Off to watch the direct’s cut now and enjoy the angst of the first episodes 💕

A side question, the pool scene you’re talking about, is it in one of the director’s cut episodes? I don’t remember seeing it while watching the series but I have seen it included in fanmade vids on yt.
Gotta agree with you on the drinking part, read a couple of comments on that and honestly… where I live people…
I guess the right source to check would be the novel but from what I can understand many things have been changed, so Vee’s motives from the novel probably wouldn’t align with the series anyway.
I’m watching the 4 ep version from En of Love right now and it makes even less sense 🥲
My 2 cents: There's a lot of discussion about the drinking. My opinion is that this seems realistic in a university…
Gotta agree with you on the drinking part, read a couple of comments on that and honestly… where I live people were already like that in their senior years during high school, every other weekend going to home parties (since no one was of age to get into any bars/clubs) and once college hit almost everyone went clubbing on Fridays/Saturdays and that’s where all the drama went down, people passed out, had mental breakdowns etc. etc. Looking back, I think the home parties were the worst since that could get totally out of control.
I actually like how Vee’s character is written, he’s rough around the edges but a good guy, which seems like a HUGE lapse in judgment for him to sleep with Mark while being devoted to Ploy, it just doesn’t make sense. I mean, they didn’t seem to have any relationship problems at that stage in the story. This makes me wonder if not Vee maybe already was kinda into Mark or maybe that he was possibly bi-curios since he had been on Mark’s ass since day one about leaving Bar alone. But yeah… not gonna assume or read too much into anything here.
