Tried to watch this after The Princess Royal but can’t get into the story at all, something with the cinematography and the lighting throws me off - feels too much like they filmed it in a big room without an actual roof even when they’re indoors (which I presume they did lol). Also the style of the costumes is a bit meh - like they didn't even try to style each character according to their traits/personalities.
What I don't get is why did Hirukawa lie to the teacher that he forced Majima into shoplifting!?
I’d say he feels responsible for the other guys in the gang going down a negative spiral. Since Haruki got a reputation of being a “bad” guy or whatever, the other guys have been looking up to him while bullying other classmates and doing all sorts of shit to seem as “cool” as him. In a twisted sort of way, he was the reason for baiting the other guys into this cycle of bad behavior. So lying to the teacher might be his way to give back / atone for the bad stuff he indirectly caused to happen. While I do think the other guys should be able think for themselves and that Haruki bears no accountability for their actions, I can see why he might still feel guilty.
With the praise , this show is getting for the romance/comedy , I think me being single , don't get actual emotions…
Lol, I’m single too and I’ve been enjoying this show sooo much! They actually explain later what the FL wanted to do/say to the ML before she jumped into that “fake” kiss because they were being watched. Also, I don’t see the ML as some innocent virgin, he reads more as reserved and collected with this stuff? I find him quite straightforward with his intentions once he knows that the feeling are reciprocated - without acting like a blushing virgin or whatnot. Also, keep in mind that he’s supposed to be younger, some insecurity might come into play from that as well, despite any experience he might or might not have. The way I see it, the ML simply accepts the FL for who she is, with all of her good and bad traits, and creates a safe space around her so that she can be her unhinged self. He doesn’t need to be extreme too, although he does happily tag along with her antics all the time 😌
And about the FL being progressive… I personally find this bit underwhelming. The show itself is trying to be progressive by bringing in topics such as poly and open relationships, found family, abortion, smutty novels and adult toys etc, but the FL is just any other career woman out there in my eyes - that’s nothing new. But it is refreshing to see a female being the active character and not the guy.
With that said, liking or disliking a show is truly a personal preference :)
It’s nice how they play with romcom tropes but then bring the story around into something more realistic. I really thought we would get an angsty time skip in this episode but then they make the characters act like real people instead 🫶 however, I’m truly tired of the mommy issues trope with guys, it’s getting old 😩 mostly because I’m worried Ji-uk will leave to to be with his mom in the last episode - considering the ending of ep 11.
love this series. my only issue is the makeup, especially with SW… closeups you can see how cakey his face looks.…
Yeah, it’s been annoying me somewhat too, but I think it’s because they’re trying to cover his facial hair/five o’clock shadow with an orangey shade to make him look younger - it’s usually just the lower half of his face that’s cakey.
