There’s too much exposition where they over explain things that have already been heavily implied. That took me out of the story quite a bit, especially when the silent and stoic ML kept on shouting about how he feels about the FL, totally out of character imho.
The first ~18 episodes or so had me enjoying this, minimal fast forwarding (mostly when the comically evil duo uncle & his son were on screen) but after episode 20 it felt like the plot suddenly stopped plotting and everything took a backseat to resolve a silk fabric dispute. Sadly, I couldn’t enjoy the end either, something about it didn’t feel satisfying enough. The stakes seemed so high in the begging, things were dark and tense, but by the end — the way the “main” conflict was resolved fell kind of flat.
The two kings were only there as plot-armor, their sole purpose was to keep the two main leads apart. Which sort of raised the question why the main leads even felt obliged to be loyal to either of these men as they were questioned, punished or were forced to do things against their will every other episode by them.
And don’t get me started on Qimin…
Loved the last (surprise) couple tho, they were cute!
Anyhow, the cinematography is great in this show (except for those CGI wolves), the costumes are beautiful and the actors are good looking and charismatic as well. So when the plot didn’t deliver, at least the visuals & production did (not the CGI lol).
Can someone explain the original storyline before FL transmigrated into the story? Was she at first betrothed to the crown prince, who then died? And thereafter was set to marry the third prince instead, but when he got crowned (with the help of her dad) he then chose the “original” FL instead? What I don’t get is why the crown prince is still alive if he was supposed to die early in the original story? Or am I just nitpicking lol
