Ohm Leng. How do you know if he didn't respond privately? pathetic person you are
you’re spreading blatant lies. Nanon has never followed Gemini and Gemini unfollowed months ago, but they’ve publicly interacted several times since and are clearly fine.
Kwang (ohm’s ex manager and nanon’s current manager) still follows him on social media
ohm has a history of falling out with previous costars (toey, sada, prigkhing) and nanon doesn’t, yet it’s nanon who’s automatically blamed for their fall out when there’s no evidence he’s done anything. If he’s been hurt he’s well within his right not to want to associate with ohm
Nani really be flying under the radar whenever the topic of GMMTV's worst actors that get pushed is brought up.His…
I’ve been saying for a long time how Nani seems like a nice guy irl but is a total charisma vacuum onscreen
And I don’t think people realise how much Sky will demolish him like he’s definitely in the top 5 actors currently at that company. The only other ones on his level are the likes of gun, nanon, khao etc
He's my least favorite character as well. Trying to always be the hero is super dull.
yeah I just find him so bland. He looked so interesting in the mock trailer but he’s been relegated to the peacekeeper role and I feel like characters only standout in those roles if they have a certain charm to them
I’m still not sure what this series is about? rich attractive people who all have the hots for each other and feel ignored and neglected by their families? It’s giving discount ‘the jungle’ (and even that wasn’t amazing) with even less plot and without some of the big powerhouse actors/actresses they had in that series.
Ohm always puts a solid performance in but his characters in 10 years ticket, Double Savage and now this feel basically like slightly different versions of the exact same guy and it seems like he’s now being typecast which is a shame as he’s definitely one the better gmmtv actors. Kay is another solid actor and Phuwin and Satang are ok, but Nani really needs to work on his performance as he brings no energy to the table. The girls, particularly Piploy, are the best things about the series, but they definitely seem like secondary characters to the men and are there primarily as love interests. Film is a fantastic actor, but the character isn’t the most interesting. I’m also rooting for her even more knowing how much hate she’s got from a few fandoms for taking on the role after Jane stepped down and just being booked and busy in general. Piploy has really embodied the whole femme fatale vibe and I’m looking forward to seeing her the most because she has so much potential.
The series looks super pretty as do all the actors, but there just seems to be zero substance to it and when gmmtv series start off already lacklustre very few of them actually develop into something interesting. I’m still curious though to see how it pans out so I’ll continue watching and hope it gets better
idk what to say about this series. I can't say it was bad, but it also wasn't good. At all. the promise and potential…
‘The character reveal at the VERY END should have been the person the played Nanon’ - what do you mean by this? That there was an actor playing Nanon playing the characters? I’ve seen you multiple times in the comment section for this series talking about how you think nanon is cringe and a bad actor and that’s your opinion so fair enough, but he clearly worked hard on this series (as did everyone) and I think a simple ‘I didn’t like nanon in these roles’ would’ve sufficed rather than making weird jabs at his efforts as an actor
They HARD rushed NatheeFlorence storyline with a limited plot! I wish we had them early :(
yeah it’s kinda surprised me how they rushed through NatheeFlorence and kinda rushed through the murder mystery with NanfahPladao, but spent 3 episodes on just flashbacks with PineAugust. It’s been a bit frustrating watching 3 hours of backstory when it could’ve been condensed into 1 or 2 episodes and focused more on PineAugust and the others in the present
I haven't seen any other projects for Nanon after 'The Jungle' for 2023. I know he pops up now and then as a guest…
I dropped umg because it was pretty boring but I loved dirty laundry and thought it was a really fun miniseries. It was directed by p’jo and it’s camp, colourful and doesn’t take itself too seriously, the performances are all really good and nanon and film have great chemistry
the only difference is that FZ all the stories were integrated and woven together so the beginning, middle and…
It’s following how the novel is laid out - the first chapters of the first volume follow pethai and gale, the remaining ones follow nannam and nithan fake dating story and pladao and nanfah’s enemies to lovers storyline. The second volume follows the other love stories.
The overarching plot is the mystery surrounding Kaewta’s death and Pladao’s attempts at exposing the club. This was confirmed during one of the cast interviews when Punpun and Nanon said they were called for the majority of the qs and Nanon still had a lot of scenes to film after both twins romantic storylines wrapped up.
He IS charming. And it's commendable that he's at least trying out varied roles.
yeah I saw some comments about him lacking charisma here but I just can’t agree. These characters are so outlandish and exaggerated that you have to have the charisma and talent to not be be completely unwatchable. And although the comments about him here are negative, they seem to be overwhelming positive elsewhere including from the Thai gp.
Also we all know he can pull off complexity, subtly, emotions etc very well and I imagine he’ll be getting scenes like that in other episodes, so I feel like this was bit of fun and something different for him
I seem to be in the minority here in loving nanon’s campy, scenery chewing performances in this series because he’s incredibly charming and pulls it off better than pretty much any male actor at gmmtv could (except for gun). He did something similar in the final episode of Midnight Museum and really stole every scene he was in. I guess the transition process from teen roles to more mature ones might be a bit bumpy for some watching him as they still see him as a goofy kid playing sad high school/college nerds and not an almost 23 year old man, but I understand that and guess it’s something that can happen when you grow up in the spotlight and onscreen.
Overall I’m not expecting complex, Oscar winning performances from anyone in this and, knowing most of the novel’s plot, I’m here for some messy camp drama that doesn’t take itself too seriously. But I get that’s not everyone’s cup of tea
do any of you feel like Nanon's character could have been given to AJ and JJ instead? I like Nanon playing different…
The twin characters have separate storylines and so we don’t really need to see them onscreen together that much. Plus one of the storylines is about one twin pretending to be the other to cause trouble and you definitely don’t need to see 2 of them onscreen in those scenes. AJ and JJ deserve more roles, but in this instance I don’t think they have the same skills Nanon does to pull it off. The characters are meant to be 26 and, whilst Nanon is 22 and less than year older than the twins, he can pull off a more mature vibe which is something I don’t think AJ and JJ could do if I’m being honest. And Nanon was also specially selected by Punpun to play her love interest when she was hired for the series because she thinks he’s a great actor.
I also highly doubt AJ and JJ want to be relegated to only playing twin characters their whole careers because they are individuals and should get to do their own separate projects (which does happen). So the argument that they should get more lead roles could really be made for any of the lead or supporting roles that were on offer for the 2023 projects that ultimately went to other guys and that they’d probably be more suited to
Totally agree. There are so many characters that have great potential but they got sidelined bcos the show wanted…
the complete lack of chemistry between tibet and maki is so frustrating because film’s chemistry with perth in double savage was great and her chemistry with nanon in dirty laundry and my precious was fantastic and always praised so I know she has it in her. But maki and tibet are such bland characters and nani has no emotional range as an actor and so it just falls flat.
It makes me so nervous for wednesday club as her character is stuck in a love triangle with nani and ohm and I haven’t really liked her chemistry with either of them
Dew isn’t the greatest but I actually think he’s better than Nani who is just so wooden to me. Overall I’m just sad the two most prominent male characters are played by the two weakest actors in the cast
100% agree with the underwhelming character introductions !! maybe it's because i'm comparing it to the gifted…
I’m the same cos I’m really struggling not comparing it to the gifted and I know that’s unfair of me! I think the production will definitely be higher quality than the gifted, but if we’re comparing the world building and characterisation in the first 2 episodes of homeschool vs the gifted, the gifted wins hands down.
For example, in the first 10 minutes of the first episode of the gifted, it’s established that Pang is resourceful, charismatic and someone who bucks authority and questions how unfair the system is. Maki’s introduction is so lacklustre in comparison. We don’t need to know her motivations right away but keeping her mysterious and making her interesting are not mutually exclusive and speaks to questionable writing rather than a poor performance to me.
The first 2 episodes were ok but I think the world building and character introductions for the most part were pretty underwhelming. I also found some of the dialogue quite stilted in certain scenes but I think that’s a writing issue and not the fault of the actors. It looks gorgeous though and you can tell a lot of money went into production.
I find Maki to be one of the more bland characters and I feel she lacks the charisma to be an interesting leader but I still have hope because I adore Film and think she’s a really good actress. Chimon, Jane and Kay are the standouts so far for me and I’m looking forward to their character arcs. I’m also impressed with Dew.
Overall I’m definitely sat for the rest of the series, but I am a bit worried given the track record this crew has with writing and editing. I just can’t see how they can stretch the plot out over 18 episodes but I’m reserving judgement for now
I thought maybe the episodes would be released simultaneously on prime Thailand and youtube for international fans on the same day like they did with Disney hotstar and 55:15/midnight series. But the episodes are dropping at 12am and gmmtv haven’t announced that this is the plan yet and I feel like they would’ve by now? So I’m wondering if it will be like Cupid’s Last Wish and the series will be released on YouTube after it’s finished airing on prime
