I think he is not that creepy. He coincidentally moved to her neighbourhood. He suddenly invited Hong Jo for a housewarming because she spouted casually that new neighbours usually hold a housewarming party. He was kinda being nice to her as neighbor should do, and he looked like felt guilty toward her after rejecting her love confessions. I think he was interested in her but didn't dare to give it a chance further given the life situation he was in. But out of the blue, he felt disturbed by JSY's affection towards HJ. His alpha brain was intrigued. It was like, "No, don't do that, she should like me, only me, always me, not you!". JSY is a menace for JG.

The enemy would make him a villain, who usurped the throne. The 'Mei' girl from Wushang whose her mission to tame Gong Shangjue, she possibly intended to make GSJ fight for Sword Wielder title, thus eradicate Gong family lineage.
