Well it is her ambition, and sifu wants her to achieve it. She is smart enough to be a good official ...getting together can ruin the plan plus it was said if a female got married, they have to quit being an official...and in the historical days...i guess saying 'getting together leads to being married couple'...(just my guessing it is like in modern day...a female studying to be a lawyer or doctor, have the ability to be a good one but ended up just being a housewife...not saying it is a bad thing but it is a pity to be limited to the old ancient role/perception of what a female supposed to be)
well until that point those characters live to that moment and don't know what their future hold, him saying that, is giving assurance to sifu that their relationship wont go further (the dramatic effect of the drama lol), while we as audience know there will be progress beyond that... as it is a non-fiction drama,...lol... watching clips from opening/closing credits and also trailers >.<.

I didn't realise it is also about FL & XL as well, because for now FL only loves TSJ and feel like XL always has 1 side love and all he done to XY are all secretive.

thanks but I assume XY didn't know that as why to the angst in the trailer. I usually avoid anything with sad ending, my heart can't take it, so I need to get all spoilers before continue watching (especially knowing it may left with sad end in season 1)
