i return a year later to beg someone to give me all the episodes where chen zhi bao (gao weiguang’s character) makes an appearance :(

how much of this show is a gao weiguang fanservice fest? just wondering for i am vengo deprived and too lazy/inattentive to crawl through snow sword stride for only a small taste of him :( all i know is ive been seeing his abs and boobs a lot from screencaps of this show and its gotten me thinking many indecent things like how i wanna have his kids etc

i finally worked up the courage to finish the last two episodes and i’m heartbroken. this was such a wonderful drama. it deserves much higher ratings than it has both here and on douban. it was such a deeply ambitious show that i truly think a lot of people weren’t ready for it. someday or one day was similarly just as deep but it had one benefit of being presented as a show that subverted very familiar tropes—so while it was really unique, it was much easier to get into, since it plays with and subverts a narrative audiences are familiar with. rainless love doesn’t have that comfort so i don’t think people were patient enough for it. there is so much this show tries to touch on, but it never gives us a solid answer (which is good, because how can there be a simple answer to anything like ecological destruction, love, abandonment, the gods?). so in that way, for me, it’s just one of the best shows i’ve seen. just by the virtue of trying something new, respecting the profound, going against our expectations…

12 episodes in, will finish today. parts of it dragged a bit for me, and i personally have some problems w the narrative, but the end of episode 11/start of episode 12 reinforces the fact that rainless love is such a unique, ambitious, and thoughtful show and it really deserves more views and accolades. it has been so long since i’ve watched a cdrama (last time for me was the bad kids) that was so complex and different. like…idk. this isn’t a drama anymore, it’s art. i really, really love this show. much respect to everyone involved. i can’t imagine how this will end.

can any of you kings list the episodes w vengo in them. maybe meng ziyi too if you have time… its a good show but my attention span these days suck 😭 i’ll probably revisit it after watching for these two

i felt exactly the same way, you’re not the only one 😭 in the near future, i would like to add that to my review as well. i think this studio really enjoys incorporating such age gaps bc their last show ‘someday or one’ day also played with that to an extent. its kind of a shame because i love everything about this show AND their other show except… that. specific point. its just so creepy no other way around it

hey!!! i actually started on that drama!!! i have to take a break though because the ending of episode 10 TRAUMATIZED me LMAO... im so surprised that they’re the same production, but also not that surprised either!! both stories are complex, but well thought out, and there’s so much attention to detail in the cinematography and emphases placed on each show (someday or one day emphasizing the depth of hyx and wqs’s love, rainless love emphasizing loneliness + warmth in childhood and spirituality). i hope that rainless love will build on some of someday or one day’s flaws too though 🥺🥺🥺🥺 im excited to see how this production studio grows!!!

OK i revisited iqiyi’s page and i think i misunderstood since it says there will be 13 episodes there too? in my defense the ui was a little misleading. LMAO let me go fix that, sorry for the confusion!

7 episodes will be released on iQiyi if i remember correctly. each episode is two parts. since mdl says 13 eps is the max i said i watched 4. e1p1, e1p2, e2p1, e2p2.

omg i thought i was the only one who felt like this!! its ok at best. zhao lusi was an incredible actress and i wish we saw more of her. im still watching for zhao lusi’s character arc mostly and skipping a lot else hahaha
