I don't know why I just noticed this, but i thought some of the music sounded familiar. This show uses music from City Hunter. you can see in ep 12 around 56:30, "The Fire of Love" starts playing. XD
Ok.. tell me one thing.. in the korean drama history do anyone of you know any drama that had 2nd season?? just…
Iris. Full House. School had multiple seasons and was recently revisited as School 2013. Flower Boy seems to come in rehashed installments, more like a franchise than having any real continuity. In short, it happens.
everybody here is judging the end, whether or not it's not closed and what-not. I'm not entirely convinced it…
ShadowBerry: "Kangchi: the beginning" the way I understand it, is/was supposed to refer to THIS series, the one that we all just saw. in that sense, with his birth and back story, all is well.
colorful_smile: I'm relatively new to the asian drama scene, and i don't really follow the actors, or even news, that well. That military service thing does complicate the issue. But i'm a long time fan of anime and fiction in general. My "plot senses" say that ending is pretty fishy, as if they WANT something to happen. marketing and other politics can easily block that. If it were a manga, i'd give it more than a 50-50 shot, but would give it more time. for anime, if it isn't green-lit by the time the first season ends, i don't hold my breath. the korean scene seems a little less predictable about WHEN they revisit a series, but i agree; a special, OVA type, or half season wouldn't surprise me.
everybody here is judging the end, whether or not it's not closed and what-not. I'm not entirely convinced it IS the end. i saw somewhere that an alternative title to this show is subtitled "Kangchi: The Beginning." Along with that, the 'epilogue' as it were, feels too detailed. Plus, there's the little epilogue to the epilogue in the last few seconds. and then there's the fact that i saw no cast and crew shots; in my experience, that goes at the end. maybe they'll do something with it and maybe they won't, but i think it's meant to be open. just a little conspiracy theory to chew on.
I like it too. Miura's comedy looks silly because it's over-the-top, but you really have to keep in mind that he's playing TWO characters, and on that level he does really well. Also, it looks corny, but to do so consistently, the director and actors have to have a lot of conviction, and it does that without being too much. You can tell they meant to do it. It's supposed to look like the comic book it came from. It's definitely a style that isn't for everyone, but I can't accept the evaluation that it wasn't done well.

woah, a dude who likes korean dra... i mean "series" (that's ok, i have the same feeling) and rock music. nice to meet you! i'm not a "dude," as such, but we seem to be on similar wavelengths, if you don't mind my saying so. good call on the City Hunter and Kenshin. I might have to stalk your favorites list from time to time.
I would understand if someone found this show hard to swallow, and even tiring, but I REALLY enjoyed it. Watched season 1 one day, and season 2 the next. 2 breaks the rules a bit more, but was still enjoyable. It has a sense of "pretty cliché, but definitely knows what it is." (That's a high recommendation from me.) A lot of common sense and reality got set aside for the sake of coolness or suspense, which is good if you like that sort of thing, or tiring if you don't. Be warned, the death count is pretty high, for goodies and baddies; it shows the writers aren't afraid to do what they have to, but sometimes also feels like they're throwing that in your face. On the whole, though, most writing decisions seemed to be made for the sake of greatest impact, if not on the viewer, at least on the characters. And the main character is such a cutie. the ost is worth mentioning, too.
