I disagree, this drama is completely xianxia as this genre is not only about mentioning a god but also about deity and immortals, what makes it even more xianxia is the fact that there is cultivation or practice involved wherein here Bai Shuo is seeking her way to become an immortal, which xuanhuan technically does not revolve around, for it to be xuanhuan there should be no mention of such. I don't think it's lacking in these elements and we'd probably get more in the latter half.
