Stars Falling from the Sky Episode 1

For me this episode was TERRIBLE! I watched this and then walked away from this drama thinking wow saved some time missing the rest of that! Luckily one day I was home sick and couldn't make it off the couch. I still needed my daily fix of drama though and this was one of the few choices available couch-side and I decided to give it a second chance.
If you have started this drama, watched this episode and said this is not for me, I will say you might want to give it a second chance. This drama is sort of like something you need to acquire a taste for. In the end I felt it was well worth it. I know this isn't really just a review of the first episode, but I wanted to give everyone a little "cheering on" if they were stumbling after watching Episode one. As Yankumi would say "fight-oh!" and continue on to episode two!

The quality of the subs for this episode were really lacking. They were very distracting and definitely decreased the entertainment factor for this episode. I am very disappointed.

Overall this is a really good show. The reason I only gave this drama an 8 was because of the end. While satisfying as far as plot went, I didn't like the fact that she ends up with the modern day reincarnation of the crown prince (and he what? ends up alone?). Reincarnation or not, Yong Tae Yong is NOT the person she was in love with. His personality is different, his mannerisms are different, he is ENTIRELY different because of his life experiences. To me this is sort of like dating twins and having one die so you just start dating the other. Sure they look alike but they are NOT the same person. For a fantasy romance that holds through until the end I would suggest Secret Garden.

The thing that I liked about this episode was how the writing allowed Se Na to be the impetus of her own destruction. In many dramas the antagonists are often exposed from the outside. In this story she would have gotten what she wanted from her "birth mother" if only she hadn't lied. Se Na is the cause of her own fate. I like the karma of that.
