totally agree with your comment, I myself also watched it many times back then ( I think each school holiday i watched at least once). Tried to rewatch the korean and chinese but never finished both of them (i wont judge them nevertheless). For me this drama is special, not only about the story itself, but also the characters, the moral values, and everything beyond that.
I also always recommended it with all my friends, to the point they called me 'halellujah chance' to tease me. Nowadays, i rarely watch any jdrama anymore, but I am certainly sure, those times when i watched this drama countlessly was one of the best part of my grown up periode in my life.
