loved this drama. i find that when dramas are very real and raw, the ratings are always pretty low. people want things thrown at them and stuff so be happening at all times and for characters to act perfectly with confidence and pizazz but with dramas like “doona”, that’s simply not the story being told. the relationship between the leads is a relationship that has happened countless times throughout the world and its being told as real as it can be. i do wish we had gotten at least a couple more episodes to flesh out the ending but i also would have liked to see more of past idol doona and what led her to living in that apartment by herself. i don’t think we got enough of the absolute trauma she went through and what her manager did to her.
anyway, really enjoyed this and i hope we get more stories like this in the future ❤️
Is forced kissing worse than a jump kick to the face? 🤔😂 (just wanting to point out weird double standards)…
I will continue to support people fighting back against abusers 🙏🏻 I stated no double standard. I went into this show thinking it was going to only be barely any physical assault and was smacked in the face with sexual assault instead. You don’t get to tell someone which one affects them more. If you can’t see that there was a reason she “high kicked” him but Not a reason for him to sexually assault her… I’m not sure what to tell you. Not everything is black and white. You have to look at the big picture. We have to use our brains.
Also, the law does not protect everyone fairly, either, so all your “legal rights” talk is just…. childish sounding.
but anyway if you enjoyed this go ahead and enjoy but don’t be upset that someone else can’t take what you are comfortable with and try to put words in their mouth. it’s very sad.

ahhhh see but now you’re putting words into my mouth bc never did I say anything about men or women. I said I didn’t like the sexual assault. You shying away from the words sexual assault and putting “forced kiss” is interesting tho.. but also yes… she was defending herself from the constant harassment and bullying she had to endure

are we talking about the FL’s jump kick? the one where she was protecting and defending herself? otherwise i’m not recalling bc it’s been so long since i watched but if that is what you are referring…. yes sexual assault is much worse. i’m not sure why you think that’s a double standard lol because either way someone’s own opinion on what type of violence is too much for them is not a “double standard” it’s…. gasp… their opinion
binged through this in a week! really enjoyed! i feel people are always harder on fantasy genre dramas and want things to make perfect sense but like, its fantasy. sometimes you just have to go with what you’re given. the romance was sweet. enjoyed the FL and ML, though i wish he had gotten a little more personality? expression is probably the better word here tbh. but i suppose a 1,500 yr old ghost stuck in the past wouldn’t have much room for personality 😂 i do think this is one drama that could have benefited from a few more eps — i rly wish we had gotten to see more of their past life and how they fell in love. I enjoyed the side couple and thought they were super cute and very realistic LOL. ending was as expected and I quite enjoyed though every time a drama has that ending a want a second season to watch it play out😂 all in all a very enjoyable drama ❤️
I hate to be that person, but am I the only one who doesn’t really feel bad for Luktan? She knew Naow had feelings for Gyo, she knew Naow was in a vulnerable state, and she as an adult offered to make Naow feel better. And she was the one to ignore Noaw first after in the hallway. She was drunk so I’ll give her that, and Naow should have been better and should apologize for taking up the offer in the first place. But now she stands in the crowd with flowers like something has changed? Maybe I missed something because I am not here for all her tears and sad faces.
However, Naow needs to speak up now and let Gyo know what happened. It’s a small mistake that can be forgiven at the moment but if kept a secret it’ll be harder to come back from.
I haven't really seen Doom at Your Service yet, but which part of the plot is similar? Just genuinely curious…
nothing really except that they both involve otherworldly being MLs entering a contract with a human FL. Doom can get a bit gloomy cuz of the premise but it’s really sweet and I love the relationship so I def recommend
plot wise this is probably a 7.5/8 if i’m being objective buttttt because I’m not this is getting a 9.5 outta me — and that still may change to a 10 😂
rowoon and boah can do no wrong in my eyes and I was so excited for this show when it was announced to star the 2 of them and BOY did it not let me down
the romance had me giggling like a school girl 😍❤️😂
Whoa why did no one mention the actual sexual assault in episode 4???? Kept seeing that they “toned down the bullying” in this version and because of that I decided to watch it (I’ve only seen the Thai version), because bully love’s not a thing I’m really into. Where was the tone down??? How much worse are the Korean and Japanese versions??? I’m gagging just thinking about it 😭 I gave it my best shot but I gotta drop lmao
In a perfect world, this would have been Thyme x Gorya x Ren and they would have been a very happy little throuple.
I’ve steadfastly refused to delve into this series because of the premise— I am not here for weird, rich, bullying men and women somehow having to save them and help them to be better. It’s not something I would ever do, let alone feel okay with a friend being part of it, so it didn’t have any appeal to me. But this is supposedly the best one, and the cast is gorgeous, and it came on Viki at just the perfect time. So, I watched!
And I did enjoy! It was fun, the romance was sweet, the acting not bad — shoutout particularly to Bright because that GAZE!!! — and enough going on to keep me interested and wanting the next episode. I also loved that every girl I thought was going to be the “mean” girl was actually a very sweet lovely lady— this is what more shows need to do. The scene toward the end between Ren and Gorya literally broke my heart I just wanted to hug him, and then her.
Now my complaints:
Thyme….. I KNOW he’s supposed to be horrible and go through a change but the change didn’t feel Real to me. One episode he was complete evil and the next he’s just kind of a jerk but super sweet and in love. I wish they would have shown this change more gradually so I had time to really begin to love him because it just felt like two completely different characters without it. It was more like the real Thyme was abducted and we were given the lovely Thyme in his place. Still, I did end up loving him. Bright played him so well. The expressions on his face had my heart pumping and my feet kicking in the air.
Gorya….. my good sis….. How she thought it was okay to befriend and fall in love with the dude that put her friend (and herself!!!!!!) through that was Insane to me. And then for her to say she couldn’t forgive her friend after what she did…. I was screaming a little bit. And then for her to forgive him INSTANTLY after he yelled and screamed at her in front of everyone…. WHEW I wanted to shake her so hard. loved her growth through the show though, even if it did only happen at the end.
The whole Kanning/Kavin storyline…. a waste of my time LOL I wasn’t a big fan of Kanning, didn’t feel like she gave us much but that could be that I just wasn’t into how the actress portrayed her with such little emotion. But for them to dedicate almost an entire episode to them…. UGH. That could have been used for more Gorya/Thyme screentime😡
Hated the whole amnesia thing at the end. They could have did something else — I don’t know what but something other than making Thyme go back to being the worst person on the planet. Besides, with it being the very last episode, it felt like a rushed finish. Sad they let the mother get redeemed because I was rooting for Gorya to smack the hell out of her.
Overall I really enjoyed this and I’m glad I watched 🤩
