The only thing that would make sense for this "ending" is that the supposed American reboot of the series is actually following the events of S3. Obviously it's probably gonna be ass as we all expect but still it would actually make a bit of sense.
I can't get past episode 7 of Mouse. So, I am surprised you ranked it first in your list. I am really gonna need…
If I remember the show correctly, you've stopped right when the show actually starts becoming interesting. The first episodes of the series are just following the usual thriller recipe but they are needed for what comes next.
truthful* but 'reliable' would be the better word choice. You might want to brush up on your own grammar before…
I'm not criticizing their grammar nor the words they use. I'm not a native english speaker so I woudn't ever do that. I'm talking about how they do not write actual criticism and just stick to vague sentences like "do not watch it's so bad" without providing arguments.
People criticizing IU's acting probably didn't get the point of Ji Ahn's character. Life never gave her happiness so she just feels empty and only lives because she has to. For the major part of the show, she doesn't show emotions because she just doesn't feel them, or just ignores them. That explains why she doesn't feel guilt or anything other than pain. The point is to follow her progress through the story, her constant serious/sad face is used to make the few moments where she smiles more impactful, and that works.
Also IU can definitely act because there is no way you can convince me that her role here is even remotely similar to her role in Hotel del Luna, where she played a very different character but still did that very well (I mean, pretty much everyone praised her acting in that one).
I love that this drama avoids most of the clichés we usually see with plots like school bullying or battle royale. Making the drama revolve around social psychology and strategies rather than shocking scenes with cliché school characters yelling at each other is way more interesting.
For some reason the negative reviews for this drama are shown at the top. I mean, you should ignore those or at least give this drama a try because if you don't you are definitely missing out on a unique experience. It may not be for everyone but you won't know that before watching it.
It's sad that this show went under everyone's radar. It offers really good ideas despite its flaws. Both main characters are incredible in the way they think and behave. Unfortunately the show is really short so corners had to be cut. But just for the characters and the insane world and premise, it's a must (and simple) watch.
Imo, this season 2 is not as terrible as what people are saying. The conclusion itself is bad for sure, but the other 3 episodes are not too bad. It's not great but you can still give it a try. Just be aware that the direction of the plot changes abruptly from S1 and that the ending will disappoint you.
I was confused with what happened to the ending. The last two episodes felt so disconnected from the rest of the show but I didn't know they had to rewrite it. In my opinion they should have probably used like 2 more episodes to make up something more coherent because the ending feels out of place and lackluster compared to the rest of the show, especially because of the lack of tension.
There is a reason why this show is the best rated kdrama on IMDB and is so highly rated here. There are only two scenarios where I wouldn't recommend you to watch it: if you ONLY watch romance shows and dislike non-romance shows or if you can't handle slower paced shows with deep meanings. Though the lower pace of the story is largely compensated by the incredible acting and the gripping scenario.
I skept the romance scenes after some point because they felt forced and out of place. The reason why they met in the first place is explained but is so far fetched it's hardly believable, so the couple's whole story doesn't really feel right. Other than that, except for the cliché acting of the villains, it's a good watch.
this is a manga adaptation, obviously they are going to have that type of dialogue
Of course, that's why I've referenced these issues as typically japanese. I'm just saying the producer could have readapted the manga into something more bearable with live actors.
I don't know how to feel about this one. This has way too many cheesy dialogues in typical japanese style (the same kind of stuff you see in most shonen animes, which is also why I've stopped watching animes...). On the other hand, most of the games were interesting this season, except for the tag game. It also had better characters development (tho rushed for many characters, that you end up not caring about at all). I was disappointed by the ending, I feel like it lacks a bit of depth to make it satisfying and the last game was just too cheesy and boring to make up for it. But overall, I think this drama would've been great if they had removed the manga-shonen style and focused on more characters development and back stories instead of some whiny main characters giving us boring dialogues about life and friendship filled with shonen clichés.
So was it a good drama? I think it was okay. Was it better than Squid Game (since everyone's doing the comparison)? Definitely not.
(Also, I must apologize to Chishiya for calling him "Sasuke" throughout S1 because he pretty much carried the whole S2 on his back, the most interesting character in the show by far).
Why are people expecting romance in every drama? There is none in this drama, and that's fine with me.
People expecting romance in every piece of entertainment just because it comes from South Korea... The Kdramas I enjoyed the most are the ones with no romance, proving that this country can make extremely good show when they don't pour cliché romances into the plot.
As a K-drama fan for almost 10 days I'm happy to see some recognition finally getting Korean drama. I did watch it with my girlfriend, but I also think I am single and overrated.
have you seen Road to Kingdom? I feel like they are following that kind of performance for Kingdom (not saying…
Yes, and I noticed that too. I do believe that this is not a really good things because the groups in Kingdom were supposed to be less experienced and the production value of the stages less important. I wish they would make their performances closest to Queendom than Road to Kingdom. Maybe The Boyz could keep their performances as they are because it feels like their "signature" style, but every other groups should not replicate it in my opinion.
Queendom allowed more interactions between the groups. I know that's mainly because of covid but this season feels really empty, almost entirely focused on the performances. Speaking of which, these performances and the remixes are way less creatives than the ones in Queendom. Most of these performances are just the groups wanting to show off their skills by doing stunts and dance breaks with somewhat of a theatrical story which is rarely well done (except for that one pirate performance by Ateez). Also, they kept the fan voting system, which is incredibly annoying and makes the whole scoring system pointless since Stray Kids literally cannot get less than top 3 because they will be backed up by their large audience whatever they will come up with. Well, if they dropped this ranking system nobody would watch the show, but at least in Queendom the rankings were less one-sided and this whole system allowed great performances and songs to be displayed. Not that the performances are any bad here, but it lacks the creativity I wished to have in a show like that, in favor of some kind of back flips / high notes competition...
