I have basically watched almost every drama that DL and YZ have starred in because I just love them (as does China). It's really cool seeing their duality of doing modern and historical/fantasy dramas, but so far preferring these two in xianxia lol.

The drama has been releasing a lot of BTS content, and they have these videos dedicated to each lead talking about their characters, other cast members talking about working with them and includes a lot of BTS shots (didn't realise so much CGI and green screen were used!!) with the cast being playful and cute. Even if you can't understand Chinese, these are still worth watching imo :P

It's super interesting. I love Yang Zi and Deng Lun's friendship, after working together on two previous dramas you can really see how relaxed they are around each other!

Yang Zi absolutely killed it in ep 58 when she's found out the truth and going off at RY. It's better than how I imagined the scene was in the book!!!

i wish they didn't start a new love line(?) between yan you and jinmi's friend, that time could be spent on the main couple.

Also... glad that demon princess line is over because I have to admit, I skipped a lot of that (lol)

Throughout the drama I was hoping Bohai would eventually leave Flowerplus and start anew, I'm glad it kinda happened in the end... wish the ending wasn't so rushed though because I was confused as heck - like was he in coma? the hospital scene was too dramatic

Wow I just finished. The ending... I think I expected a tragic ending as with the original story. I thought with the white hair, they would've made XX the new emperor and YY the demon emperor. I think her jumping into the water to die, to meet XX was oddly nice, as they did keep saying they would be together forever so it kinda did happen that way. She wasn't going to live on her own and be happy, she would be unable to restore him like she did a thousand years ago because he gave his life pearl thing to her.

SO much sacrifice between these two leads, I kinda hated how the higher ups didn't really do anything and let the two run wild in trying to save the universe all due to "destiny".

I'm on episode 58 and still no actual character growth for Xiao Qing..... She's still immature as well and is the cause of basically all the problems omg.
