Help me understand. Is this what happened to Yeon while he and what's her name are separated, while she thinks…
he time travels to the past, but it's after they are married. which sucks for her because she thought he was dead for a while then csme back, they got married and months afterwards he time travels to 1938 and when he comes back to the present its been 3 years.

Hi! Quick question, can I watch this without watching the first season? I really don't appreciate the FL from…
nope. This one is a direct sequel to the first season (it starts after the final episode of S1). You need to watch it to know the character backgrounds and dynamics (especially between lee yeon and lee rang). it is most definitely not a prequel

So was all this "retiring" just Tul's way of trying to switch BL partners? I know that this series is not BL.…
It was giving the vibe because they are in a real romantic relationship

it probably won’t. i mean, season 2 takes place directly after season 1 but before he sees kid!lee rang in the…
No it doesn't. Because they said in the first episode that Lee Yeong can't be reincarnatec. Its the whole reason why he goes to the past. Child!rang in s1 ending is already like 5-6 or something so it takes place years after he dies. This takes place after 1938 because thats when he enters the cycle of reincarnation. 1938 takes place directly after lee rang dies

Very very happy ending but with loose ends what happened to the evil brother who took the ajumma's eye ?why didn't…
They can't bring lee rang back to life because he's already dead. Watch the first episode again of s2. The reason why lee yeong went to the past was so that he would enter the reincarnation cycle. Watch season 1 last episode again. The last couple of minutes take place after this season, which is when lee yeong sees child!rang. He got reincarnated.

Season 2 explained that whatever happened in that past wont change his future. It will create an alternate timeline. Lee Yeong's present has not changed.

The future has to change now after having the mermaid in Aranag's life and him living with his brother not hating…
His future won't change,. It's an alternate timeline. Now the future of that lee yeong? It changes

Still hoping that Season 2 doesn't end on a big cliffhanger. Didn't LDW recently say in a interview that Season…
it probably won’t. i mean, season 2 takes place directly after season 1 but before he sees kid!lee rang in the last episode of s1. which implies that he is successful in this season and goes back to the present when, years later, he sees his brother reincarnated,

I'm really enjoying this so far although i wonder if it was originally gonna be a bromance (or even BL...?) and…
A lot of Asian dramas have brotherhood where two MLs have more chemistry and scenes together than the ML and FL tbh. It's pretty common. But man, I hope they will develop her character more because like you said, she seems like a plot device with not a lot of substance. I think this is common when the main plot is brotherhood+plot rather than romance being central.

Tbh i'm watching it for the bromance/brotherhood.

eh no. it's chinese bl and there aren't kisses between the male ships in any of them, that's not a spoiler it's common sense. none of what i wrote is a spoiler so no i won't use it ? spoiler would be if i said if anyone dies or how it ends.

and honestly, if people haven't watched it they shouldn't even be reading comments except when they want the spoilers

best chinese bl drama i've watched, did not disappoint at all. different than the novel, but still keeps the romance. it's like watching a "shounen ai" anime/manga where its slow burn romance and they get together at the end, except there's no kissing because it's China so everything has to be implied. they did such a great job, it's not bromance, its definitely a romance. they're both in love and its glorious to watch. the slow burn and progression of their relationship is even better than the novel imo.

That’s what I don’t like about japanese BL live action. The kissing is awkward and they come onto each other…
Idk i think taiwanese/thai are better at it though. They look natural (though the kissing is sometimes eh) but man, in japanese bl everything looks fake and theres hardly any chemistry between the leads. I would rather they stick with anime adaptations of yaoi manga because when it comes to live action they always disappoint
