I agree.one of the reason why this drama wasamazing is the character development esp. gu ting ye... u will love him eventually as u watch the episodes.. esp from ep 20 and above....
In terms of story.i can line up in NIV. They have different way of execution but it strike in me.maybe others think that the love story was slow,but for me that was the reason that it was very unique. Lol and i am sorry i dropped the ashes of love and eternal.hahahaq
LOL.. yeah.. despite of that after watching historical dramas, a 16 episode drama became too short for me, I learned the political position and their predicament, great fighting scene, the amazing costume is a plus, great plot(especially Chinese historical drama).. oh..yeah.. the one thing that I'm struggling about was the names.TOO MANY NAMES that I need to replay it or go here in MDL to check the characters. :) But overall I'm so addicted to historical drama that now it was rare for me to watch romcom or some other type of genre... :)

Because it's slow progress that is why it's more memorable and unique. As I watched the ending song in the last episode, I started to mesmerize the journey that they have. And the fact that they didn't start as lovers already like others, it builds up the trust and love as they accompany each other. What I really love is the buildup of each character it was meticulously crafted. ML as poise and well collected girl to muddled and clumsy(in a good way) and GTY as a not so noble character to a hero and upright person as he is.. And last is the villain, my favorite was the Madam Gu which has a very unique way of torturing our MC. realizing that Madam Gu's saint like act was more scary than the normal act of being a villain.. If I can grade it as more than 10/10 I will do it... I bid my farewell to all the characters...And now what will I watch??? :) hmmm....
