On contrary I love that he didn't find him instantly. In that time, his feelings for Leyan was not strong enough to change his actions and priorities. His actions were justifiable. I really love that part actually. When he started to find her and missed some opportunity I think that when he started to realized that he cares for her, but still not good enough to change him. until that scene where she slap her.

Hmmm. It’s not perfect like nirvana in fire and it really had some flaws esp at the end but it’s a fun ride for me until the end.im not sure if it will work out entirely if they will based it in Hao Yan’s story. I like how the story goes as a 2nd lead characters.it was slowly building up and the fruit of the waiting was rewarded at the end. A well written love story.

Yeah. The pacing of his character development was the key. It build up really slow because in reality his views will not changed overnight. All the people around him contributed for him to become Hao Du that we loved at the end..
