The outfits are exceptionally pretty, but there is a sameness about them. My husband said he couldn’t tell a…
I just started this (on episode four and am so glad to hear that others are struggling to tell the female leads apart. With the exception of the fifth and second sister, the others seem oddly similar.
After seeing queen for 7 days, most of the time I was thinking the royal family was being way to nice/ understanding…
I've watched three fourths of this and would totally agree it is Cosplay rather than history. The realities of court life is non-existent and so many of the scenes are just purely silly. It is fun but far from realistic in any manner.
Have you not come to the part where she’s an extremely talented businessperson? That takes lots of smarts.
I understand your point, but I find myself frustrated with her. For example, in episode 15, she is told the boulder can stop the river only for a moment. Eventually, the water flows together again behind it. The strength of one person is far too small against the vast currents of history. The indication is that one is too small to change the fate of many. My first thought was that lots of boulders make a dam, and a dam changes a river's course. Her first thought is, "So everything is preordained. Nothing can truly be changed after all." Later, when making the soup, Song Mo mentions how surprise ingredients make it new. So, in that brief afternoon, she is told the two elements that would inspire change - numbers and surprises. She didn't pick up on it either time. I am only on episode 15, so she might figure it out sometime soon. But for right now, from my perspective, she's missing out on some big clues.

I don't think she's dumb, I was just annoyed by how she seems to keep falling into traps by her fifth uncle/aunt. I know she is a good business woman, although that seems to be par for the course for heroines these days. I'm more disappointed that she doesn't seem to be catching on to the politics, when her goal is to stop a rebellion.
I'm on episode 14 and curious if the heroine ever gets any smarter? She made two dumb mistakes ina row, first going back to help her friend and then getting caught helping General Song. Can I expect better things ahead or is she like this throughout?
Lol... stop judging or generalizing ppl first just because they prefer the villain to the ML. You also need to…
People didn't respond with empathy because the character was so handsome. He wasn't the only attractive man in the show. They responded with empathy because out of all the characters Ryu Shi Oh was the only one who seemed to be written with any depth and believability. The rest of them were shallow and ridiculous. Part of the credit does go to the actor for playing the role so well but a lot of the BLAME goes to the writer. She should have given us heroes we could root for rather than forcing us to roll our eyes at their antics. And the fat shaming, snide comments on capitalism without any conversation regarding a viable alternative, and the weird, overt sensuality of the mom and grandma while infantilizing the 22-year-old heroine was freaking creepy.
holy shit 16 episode all of 1hour!!?!? naah can someone tell in which ep he appears?
I fast-forwarded through this mess simply because of him. So glad to see I am not alone. liked the lead female character but it was hard to feel for Nam-soon because her original plight was her own fault (she ran off on her dad) and was resolved by being well loved and cared for. She lands in Korea and does a ton of stuff that would have her either arrested and/or sent to a lab but of course she comes out the victor and finds her obscenely rich birth family besides. Talk about a Mary Sue! And then the mom and grandma were just creepy. The grandma's red herring romance was so unnecessary and such a waste of screen time. The only good thing was the villain - written with depth and so sympathetic.
Really liked the show, but the Ko Won character was completely useless and unnecessary for the plot
I liked the show, too, but I actually enjoyed Ko Won. I wish he had been the one to get together with her friend. The secondary romance was entirely unbelievable, imo.
Are the last 2 episodes really that bad?Just started the drama and thought i found an underrated series of this…
I binge watched over the course of a couple of days while down with a bad virus and thoroughly enjoyed it. It's not a deep show but the acting is superb and it does do a nice job of highlighting social issues such as ageism. There were so many episodes that I laughed my way through, even though laughing brought on coughing fits. So I recomend it. First show in a while I really enjoyed. The last two episodes aren't horrible. I actually really appreciated who the villain was; I typically guess who the villain is by episode two or three but in this one I didn't see it coming. But I will say that episodes 15/16 felt rushed; they don't tie the plot up as neatly as they could, the h/h communication wasn't great, and there were some problems with the whole night/day/magic at the end. And starting at about episode 13 there were definitely portions they could have cut to allow more room for a strong finish. But overall still worth a watch.
Help, I'm 12 episodes in and sad to find that this is dragging for me. I love the leads (I first saw Dylan Wang…
I'm struggling at the same exact point. They are communicating so badly that I sometimes wonder if they speak the same language. I mean, would it have killed her to tell him after the big meal he shared with her that she was leaving because her boss had called? Playing hard to get shouldn't involve being rude. And don't get me started on her idiot friend Bi Ruo Shan! I really love both lead actors, Bai Lu was brilliant in Love is Sweet and Dylan Wang is pretty much awesome in everything he does and their visuals are stunning. Their chemistry is good. So far the only characters I'm enjoying are Yu You and Qin Shi Yue. Will stick with it in hopes of improvement.
The first few episodes of this were adorable and funny. Episode one was especially outstanding and sweet. As this rom-com progressed though it turned into a rom-dram and not a very good one. It left the serious issues with bot moms unresolved and used flashbacks so extensively that cutting them out would have resulted in at least four less episodes. The lead couple had good chemistry and there was enough here that the story could have had some real depth to it but in the end, those final episodes didn't live up to the promise of the start.
hi it’s me again HAHA if u have finished watching the shows can u explain to me why did muyan take away the…
Muyan takes away the holy ember to force the Qi people to fight the Qian people for territory. He feels the weak and short lived Qian don't deserve the warm, fertile land they have and is angry that the Qi are forced to live in the icy cold north. The holy ember enables the Qi to survive the long night (which is the equivalent of the winter months in the arctic where they never see the sun). Muyan isn't really siding with either kingdom, although he would claim he is siding with Qi. He is using the theft of the ember to make the majority of Qi people, who disagree with his political agenda of war for territory, to choose that option.
I'm stuck at ep 20 ( typical midway dragging for me). I'm not interested in Xiao Se's fight with the princes,…
Had the same problem and I would say that the storyline stays pretty much the same as to Xiao Se and everyone fighting for/with him. He does increase in power as the story goes on if that makes a difference for you.
