Just watched episode 11 and I'm thinking that there's no way that they can wrap everything up properly in 1 more episode. This should have been 16 episodes...I have a bad feeling about the last episode leaving viewers hanging or rushing the plot :(
I've seen a lot of people hating on this drama (mainly those who are comparing it to VP), but to be honest this is the only drama that I get excited over these days (I'm currently in a bit of a drama slump). If you look at this drama as a stand-alone work rather than a sequel or anything, and really don't care much about the vampire stuff its actually pretty good. lol They seem to forget completely about the vampire stuff in some episodes - but I really don't mind because I don't care much for that anyways.
The relationship between the main trio and the fact that each episode gives you a new case has kept me hooked. Sure there are some loopholes and such, but its a fun drama nonetheless. I personally love Han Gyeol Wool as a character. She's so real with everything that she does/says and I look forward to her outbursts each episode :)
I watched this because of the high rating but I guess I'm in the minority (or maybe the only one lol) in the fact…
While I completely respect other people's opinions such as with the comment by "Faith," I hope that you do not take offence to varying opinions on this drama. Sure many people liked/loved this drama (hence the high rating on this website) but not everyone is required to feel that way. It would be nice if we could keep this comment section friendly and respectful instead of criticizing and judging those of varying opinions. We all live different lives, with different opinions and experiences that decide on how we connect with or feel about a drama or anything of the sort. We also all enter into stories through different methods, some are more interested in technique while others prefer stories that focus primarily on plot, characters, or setting; this applies to reading as well as with watching dramas/movies. It's really up to the individual's preference.
Again, while I respect your personal opinion as you say that you are a former critic, this website is for everyone and sometimes people just have different opinions on what constitutes as a critical masterpiece. To you, yes, this does fall into that category - but for others it may not and that is okay! How boring would life, films, and dramas be if everyone had the same opinion on what was "good"; right? Then nothing "bad" would ever be made and what would we critic? :) Cheers.
I watched this because of the high rating but I guess I'm in the minority (or maybe the only one lol) in the fact that I was really disappointed in the drama. So much potential for the plot but it just didn't carry through...
In fact, the story would have been much better if the female character just didn't exist. Her acting (especially in the 'past') drove me crazy because it was just awkward with her facial expressions most of the time and the character just pissed me off with the crap that she pulled. The male actors were great at their roles but the story line and ending bothered me. Also, there was a lot of repetition of scenes that dragged on. Maybe if I didn't marathon this I wouldn't have noticed the constant repetition of scenes...
Enjoyed it...but then I looked up their ages. They didn't look THAT young in the show LOL I feel old all of a sudden ㅠㅠ
Also, maybe its just the roles that she's taking but it seems like Kim Sae Ron's acting is getting more predictable (and worse) with every role that she takes. It's sad to see after her great work in Man From Nowhere (aka Ahjusshi) with Won Bin. Then again, just my opinion.
Only 2 episodes aired so far but can I just say Han Gyeo Wool is a boss. Loving her character and I keep looking forward to what she'll do next. Hope they don't change her to be a weak character later on...that would be a major disappointment.
Btw, did not expect so many top class cameos right from the start!
Seo In Guk may not be an idol, but he's arguably one of the best singer-turned-actors out there...to the point that a lot of people forget that he is actually a singer and the winner of Superstar K Season 1!
I'm actually trying to think of something I liked about this but I can't...which might just be a first for me. The acting, plot, casting, script - just everything was off. It's like they didn't even try!
Interesting movie and amazing cast.
But I have to say it. That last kiss scene proves my theory. Lee Jin Wook > everyone else at kiss scenes. LOL Everyone else did that awkward shoulder grab during the scene and he was the only one who performed more naturally.
Loved it but it would have been better if they didn't spend so much time on the WooShik-SooJin couple. They caused the story to drag. More screen time for JoonSung-YiJin would have been better in that case. But fun, relaxing watch overall.
Wow. Although I didn't vote for some of these people, I have to admit that this looks like a more legit list than many official award shows! Great picks all around :)
Main couple had amazing chemistry and their scenes were cute...but the female lead turned ridiculous around episode 15 which made me drop my rating a lot.
I'm pretty sure Park Bo Gum is the reason I rated this quite high. He creeped me out but at the same time I couldn't hate him! Brilliant acting on his part.
Just about every scene where Young Dal cried, I cried along with him ㅠㅠ It's been a while since that's happened with a drama; so I guess that says something about how much Kim Jae Joong has improved as an actor! I enjoyed this a lot more than I thought I would!
