Hi Lanny, I really liked the series, and like you I want to make some of the recipes. I really like the characters, and think the actors are great. FYI, there's very few displays of any sort of physical affection in any of the series/film, but there's a lot in the interactions and the meals and the gentleness between the two leads. And I've read enough reviews to know that the point of the manga/series wasn't to show physicality, so I understand. The Special has some really beautiful "family" moments, and the film has some lovely romantic touches where we see that they're both a bit more comfortable and confident in their relationship -- which is great to see. I find some of it a little cringy in the attitudes and misconceptions of some characters -- but I can get through those scenes because I really like the wider arc/story.

The movie just came out on Gaga this morning. I watched it before work.
