Whew! I was afraid that I would be the only one disappointed by the story. Yeah I definitely agree with you and I'm a bit embarrassed to say this myself but the main reason why I held on was because of Kyungsoo eheh.
And I dunno...I feel like there were too many coincidences with Hong Shim running in to her brother at the market and also just happening to come across his body when she was out looking for him. I think for me, a lot of the main events were anti-climactic because they were either really predictable or too rushed in and just happened before I could really get immersed in to the story. I mean the whole story is kinda cliche but if it were written a little better I think it would have made it. The OST was pretty disappointing as well, it was kinda cheesy in my opinion. T_T

This really gave me a lot of comfort. I am so thankful for this incredible drama. I just recently hit an all time low point in my life and I'm still trying to get through it...I never thought that something like this would give me strength. This is definitely my favourite drama of all time.

(wuaa it's been two months and I'm still in love with this drama!!) Well I guess Ikuo's survival and Tatsuya's death were more figurative elements to the story and both of their characters. When Ikuo was shot, he still had the will to live in order to get revenge and he gained back his strength with that mentality. But after Tatsuya was shot he just completely gave up on the idea of getting his revenge and that was the only thing that he and Ikuo were living for. So I guess it kinda makes sense that Tatsuya didn't live – he just no longer had a reason to. In the end, Ikuo chose Tatsuya to be the most important person in his life so I guess by killing himself he was able to express that loyalty.
I think we need more dramas like these. It's quiet, slow paced but I think that's a good thing. Sometimes we just have to be still, there's no need for action, lots of dialogue or fancy music to be in the moment. I like the quiet. Even the editing with the low shutter speed and the sound of Dong Hoon's breathing is enough to set the mood and engage...we learn a lot about his character that way too. (^__^) This is definitely going on my favourites ✨
Great drama with some interracial romance and lighthearted comedy, although it got a bit too patriotic and seemed biased at times. Also, the portrayal of the emperor was kinda exaggerated and misleading.
Tsk tsk...she went with the wrong guy. There was absolutely no character development for Aruto! He got no substance, no soul...just a white outfit and a pretty face – no emotion there smh(" -__-)

I've seen Oguri and Toma in Hanazakari but oh mah gosh the chemistry between these two and the character development in Ouroboros is just...MRRRM!!! Coolest and most emotional bromance I have ever seen in a J-Drama.

( ._.)/ dui bu qi First of all...great casting, costumes and sets were nice and cinematography was good but I think they made the story drag on too much? Sure there were quite a lot of twists but I think there was too much filler in between – fighting and romantic/drama scenes were too long and the film editing made the scenes drag on a little. I feel like the story itself was sorta empty too. There were a lot of cliche moments in my opinion and there's not enough backstory to the two opposing sides or the characters (unless I missed anything wuehe...dui bu qi) ("._.) and there was no message (that I could identify) behind the story either (which is okay...films made purely for entertainment are fine but I just prefer films that carry deep messages hehe) I think some scenes seemed a little unoriginal as well...like the bamboo scene and scenes where Mei and Jin were together reminded me of stuff from Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon (2000) – which is an awesome film for those who haven't watched it! ;] But yeah!! Overall, the fighting stunts were pretty damn cool!! Especially with the long sleeves and flow-y costumes. :D
