Very nice article! As you said, hana yori dango ( 花より団子) is also a japanese proverb and it means that the practical is better than the aesthetic. But in the title, “dango“ is written with a different character (男子) and 男 means “man“, so it is also a pun, I think. So this is where the title “Boys over flowers“ comes from.

I think they still have to write the english sub despite them talking in english! I don't understand the heavy…
Actually Furukawa Yuki was raised in Canada... he speaks english very well.(watch this interview www.youtube.com/watch?v=gF3KrTDZGHE ). But maybe he tried to hide that while acting since his character is supposed to be still learning the language. But seriously, I couldn't notice any flaw and I think he spoke very clearly...
