I just finished the novel—it was absolutely thrilling and intense! Xiao Fan finally gets his revenge. Starting…
I'm not sure if this link will work in your region—the chapter I sent starts midway through the story. Xiao Fan begins his counterattack from this point onward.

This emptiness might not go away until Gui Luan airs—that’s when I might finally be truly blown away again.

Never Ending Summer is also wonderfully romantic—those subtle flutters of attraction, paired with an assertive devotion that stays just within that perfectly comfortable boundary. It’s not as intoxicating as POJ, but it’s perfect for passing the time. Watch it at the right moment, without any preconceptions, and it’ll leave you feeling genuinely uplifted. As for historical dramas with a similar vibe to POJ, I haven’t found one yet. I know there are plenty of other costume dramas that surpass it in political intrigue, plot logic, and pacing—I’ve tried them all. They certainly have their merits, but none deliver that same rush of romantic energy I felt watching POJ. That warmth was like a healing blanket, soothing my emotions and filling a quiet void in my heart. None of the others could do that.

well she is a fallen princess isn't he like a thief or something.... riches to rags
I know the labels are correct—it's just that sheer, jarring contrast, you get it? In POJ, he's powerful, lofty, and noble, a high-ranking lord who can sulk at the emperor whenever he pleases. But in this drama, he's merely a brothel enforcer, the illegitimate son of a prostitute—a status so shameful it creates this absurdly disjointed feeling.

In the novel I was reading, he was cuffed to the bedpost, body twisting against the restraints, low groans rumbling in his throat. BLQ’s veins stood out as he fought to hold back, desire burning through him—so he ground out through gritted teeth, “Did you do that on purpose?”

I'm reading the Chinese version—my native language. The trailer reveals lines lifted verbatim from the novel, so I’m absolutely electrified. Xiao Fan will grind the dignity of these high-and-mighty elites under his heel. A hatred burns in his heart—because he loves too deeply and cannot break free, while the other seems utterly carefree, surrounded by endless romantic distractions. His drive for revenge? To make the one who unraveled him—who warped him until he only desires men—taste failure for once. That man has never known defeat. He will force him to remember him forever.

OMG, I just finished this novel! I’d give the show a solid 10 out of 10. To those who kept blaming Xiao Fan for being weak—yes, he really did endure constant bullying for so long. And it gets even more heart-wrenching later on. But starting from the final tenth of the novel—which I’m guessing will land around episode 10 in the drama—he finally begins his counterattack. His retaliation isn’t mild at all; it’s ruthless, swift, and leaves no room for mercy. He crushes every last bit of their dignity underfoot, and honestly? I’m standing up and clapping for him. Don’t worry—it all ends in a deeply satisfying, happy ending.
