She basically outacted everyone and did a great job portraying all the emotions the character has, which are very heavy and complex, yet she managed to deliver them well. I have to agree with you, because her acting relies heavily on a strong script like in her films so that she can truly shine. Heavy scripts filled with emotional scenes suit her well, such as wuxia. I also really hope she can get such roles in the future, but it doesn’t seem likely in the near future. It appears that her agency is currently focusing on mainstream dramas for her after doing idol dramas for the past two years.
