so far its a very unique viewing experience, its immersive and fun. Bonus point for the unconventional fl character, we dont often see genuinely mean, superficial girls as fl's. I like her, she hot, fashionable and bitchy 😌 good for her. So done with the "i'm not like other girls, I fight and I don't like makeup" characters, boo get a personality.
Put a spoiler plz, you just spoiled it for me 😒😒
with all due respect the season two is airing soon and the webtoon is being blasted all over the internet, everyone knows going into this drama that it is going to end up with a break up (that's literally the point). I also knew how it was gonna end before watching it, you can still watch it. the show is about yumi's life, I promise you the real ml still hasn't appeared yet.
I have beef with this author. Can we all admit that woong was an above average man? Throughout the whole season they painted him to be very loyal, caring, supportive and head over heels for FL. Suddenly this man goes through a rough patch, very normal it happens to all of us, we all get insecure and close off. Usually in that situation the other partner uplifts the one that is struggling and doesn't leave them spiraling.
But not her, the moment she felt distance she breaks things off. Yumi is very wrong for this. "Oh no she asked for a break bcs of marriage". NO! Didn't we see her love unwaver even after he rejected her proposal? Why is it suddenly a deal breaker for her? And wasn't he warming up to marriage anyways. She was even at the top of his priority. And what if he had a crush on dumb bitch in college, he prioritizes dumplings over her anyways. So conclusion: this breakup is bullshit. If she wasn't too quick to take a break while he was struggling, he could've overcame his problems and communicated with her. They never once fought?? Come on.
The FL had no character development, the ML never tried to understand her insecurities and their relationship was baseless. If the writer had working brain cells she would have at least used their past to create a plot. I was expecting the ML to admit that he was the insecure one and has a hard time trusting her feelings because in the past she ignored him and moved on. But no instead everything is just in the air. Does he like her? meh sorta who knows. Did he like her in the past? meh sorta who knows. Also the book he wrote is ridiculous and doesn't mean anything to the audience. We can't read it, its not helping us understand him any better.
Cardboard characters, no development, no real plot, just angst and immature interactions. They all need therapy. That tsundere landlord needs to be checked for narcissism, sociopathic tendencies and mommy issues, ML has communication issues, probably depression and dysfunctional relationship with love, FL needs a confidence coach and self love. That blond girl although brain dead and slow, she's a cutie and can do no wrong so I'll spare her. The actress who played the FL carried this drama, despite her character being a doormat and a masochist, she portrayed her perfectly.
Conclusion: BOooo, *throws eggs*
I don't regret watching it though, messy people are funny.
So this is somehow really hilarious to me. The FL isn't a doormat and her girl boss moments are funny. The actress who plays her is doing a really good job, her facial expressions are really good. The biggest downside is that the episodes are so short so we don't get to know the characters very much. Also if you're worried about harmful stereotypes, this isn't that.
the ending for the antagonist is...please tell me, why is satan himself travelling the world while everyone is suffering?? She deserved jail and eternity of hell.
Rewatched this after many years and honestly, Uehara is a mediocre boyfriend, he's a boring white wall who just goes along with her plans. He's mean and acts like an 50 yr old who hates his wife but can't be bothered to divorce her because she feeds him and gives him attention. This guy really blamed her for not telling him her birthday? Hello? You're the one who needs to ask, you're the one who's supposed to care about every detail relating to her. Can't believe they tried to sell us this below average man. Issei is the only well articulated character, he's good at communication and genuinely cares for her. Nao is a doormat and doesn't value herself. This couple never communicates ever. Their whole relationship dynamic is unbalanced.
This is a hidden gem, literally. I have no words this really hit the spot. I liked it so much ??? please give it a try I would love it if more people knew of this. So good. At first you might think this is a cheesy romcom but the world building and ost really transport you into another reality.
The biggest flaw is that this drama has 3 groups of villains with different motives, it's heavy and doesn't let room for the characters to breathe. Conflict never ends, just when we think its done, here we go again, Because of that, we see no deep human interactions between the leads and the FLs development is very neglected.
But it's not all bad, ro woon did an exceptional job. And his character is refreshing. Side note: they brought back the cliche kdrama dramatic scene freezing, where the leads stare at each other for minutes Its so cheesy and out dated and they paired it with the outdated ost.
can't say that this drama was anything but mediocre. low budget, ml horrendous acting (who is he? idol actor? cause he's pretty stiff) , bad writing (its almost over and we have yet to see any fl character development). feels like a fever dream.
This was insanely good. I tried writing a review expressing my love for the characters, the healthy relationship, the ml personality, the very real and relatable nuanced family themes and more. But i'll just leave it at that: this is special. This is sweet tea on a breezy spring afternoon
am I missing something? this was really bad..the pacing is atrocious, the first episodes are painful to watch, flashbacks everywhere and we're bombarded by the mls angst and problems. The fl was barely introduced. how is she a celebrity, a student, a genius and 19? This is messy, I tried sticking with it for 6 episodes to see what y'all were talking about but this is painful. At least its not dubbed. Guys what am I missing seriously??? Do y'all live in an alternate universe?
I'm IN SHOCK. This is a hidden gem, i've watched all the cdramas that people usually recommend and they all fell short to me. But this ? This is quality. Camera work, writing, characters, cast, plot and its so creative. This is very very enjoyable. To sum it up, I had fun watching this. What a treat. The romance was very nice too.
alright I need a genius to explain to me the ending, because the theory that they were playing the game with her doesn't add up. She broke up with him on the last episode of season one with a letter saying that she wasn't from their world and he thought she was lying. Unless they chose to be brainwashed for the game.
If you like happy endings, stop episode 35 at 35:38 and watch the alternative ending.
