to sum up: gorgeous set, gorgeous clothes, raw portrayal of women issues, actually very strong fl, strong beginning weak ending, lots of grey characters to empathize with, a few tears, big family theme, supportive ml and the drama actually ends at episode 33.
think you may be over reacting? its fake and 16 is a leagal age to get married in a lot of counties. Plus teen…
my username is none of your business and does not discredit in anyway my very clear comment calling out this unethical casting. if it doesn't bother you go right ahead, but it won't change that the casting is: morally wrong and disgusting.
this actually had be laughing out loud a few time. the fl is hilarious. but I do think the rating is too high in my opinion, its prob bcs it was released in 2017. since then many things have come out that are exponentially better
Japan has been making historical dramas since 1963. It's called Taiga Drama. Look up on wiki and you'll find a…
I'm a big fan of the historical genre and I have a lot of respect and appreciation for it. I'm speaking in terms of demand and trend here.
Right now and for a few years the east asian film industry across china and korea have been producing a specific kind of historical production where romance, lighthearted comedic tones and a "virtuous" devoted ml are at the center of the plot. This genre has immense popularity and china specifically has gained a devoted local and international audience from it. They're even popular in korea and japan. So yes, "the public", as in, most of the people who consume historical dramas (authentic or not). What keeps the genre hot , thriving and keeps the people coming back are those easily digestible lighthearted themes.
At the end of the day its an industry and Japan hasn't hopped on the trend. We're missing out on discovering ancient japan through a lighthearted lens. Not everyone has the guts to watch dram, angst and total realism. Apart from Aishi girl, there hasn't been a drama of that sort in years.
And honestly if I'm being honest even if they're still producing historical dramas they're still producing too few. Its a genre that needs more love.
came back to say that in my 12 years of watching romance dramas. Sifeng is unequivocally the most dedicated, loving, caring ML to ever exist. There's NO one who does it like him. NO ML will ever love like he does. I might or might not have cried over the fact that he doesn't exist in real life ðŸ˜god please give me my own sifeng ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
