Aw...... thank you so much! I really will watch them all, and rewatch The Longest Day in Chang'an, which is one of my favorites. I knew it. I'm back in the saddle again! :) I totally understand re: Yang Mi. She's not everybody's cup of tea, so you just go ahead and let that one slide. You watch better content than me, Lilly, so I see myself enjoying next year. Now who would have have thought it?
Wishing you all the best for the rest of this year. You've earned it just by helping me out. Bye! :)
I actually agree with you, while also liking this drama. In my opinion, the whole point of the drama is to show…
Hi cocoa2blossom. No, I'm glad you responded. Thanks! That's not a problem at all. I lied and came back, but not to cause trouble, so don't panic. :)
Thanks for taking an interest in what might interest me. I'll check out Ancient Detectives next year. Look above at my response to Lilly1008. You might find something good to watch in that conversation. Also, since you like the actors in The Wolf, try The Untamed for Xiao Zhan; (Princess Agents has Li Qin), and then 2 movies on YouTube for Darren Wang - Suddenly Seventeen & Our Times (warning, the one I watched had adult language). That should set you straight for a few weeks. I hope you enjoy at least one!

Hi, Lilly1008! I know.. I know. I'm a liar. I'm back. But... I actually came back to say thank you. I have seen the first 2 dramas you recommended (the martial arts in Shaolin was great), but Qin Empire 4 is a new one for me. I didn't even know about it. I'm going to give it a whirl next year. Is it on YouTube? It's looks very promising, so I appreciate that.
Maybe my cdrama world is too thin. I wish I could blow your mind with something equally as good, but I can only come up with Mother, a modern kdrama over on Viki.com. And then...maybe... the cdramas Legend of Fuyao and Bloody Romance? I usually don't like the modern stuff. It's like you said, fall off your couch ridiculous, but then I could be watching the wrong stuff. I'm totally up for being corrected. I'm going to recommend something additional for cocoa2blosoom, down below, because that persons taste may be different. But you can check those out as well, if you haven't already. Hey, it's quarantine!
It's 2020. You are mistaken, the drama is not set in 2020 but olden days.If people here are that thirsty for Xiao…
Hi, bibi. We're still feuding right? :) Well let's wrap this up. I understood you. You're saying that Xiao Zhan fans are well behaved, and eating all their vegetables, and causing no trouble to anybody. I got it. I think we just got our wires a little crossed. I understood you, but I'm also saying, I know that they are probably watching the show till the end, solely because of their rabid support for him, and that they have their blinders on, and they refuse to acknowledge that the show has issues, ie. abusive ones, so on they watch, which is a big problem for me. There. Now, if we're still feuding after this, that's okay, we'll just call me the winner.

Hi there cocoa2blossom! I'm glad to see you agreed with me, and it's a-okay if you still like the drama. I don't know where you live, so how can I force you to give it up? But seriously, if I at least got you to think about what you're watching and enjoying, I think my job here is done.
And yes, the actors did well, despite the dialogue that they were given. Now, Nirvana in Fire.... that was surprisingly good, right? I think that was one of the rare ones. Try Princess Agents, if you haven't already. The FL was as strong as they allow them to get, and the story was good and different, but incomplete. See, I've forewarned you.
You sound like a cdrama pro. Carry on then, but I'm giving them up for now. They'll have to woo me back hard like lover. So, if you see me on this forum in the near future, don't believe it's me, or, feel free to ask me why I'm starting stuff up again when everyone's happy?"

Well I am so happy you are enjoying something, Lilly. It's rough out here. :) I know I just watched my last cdrama for a long time to come, which is sad, because I like to watch shows that are different and clean. But I'll come back if I hear great buzz surrounding a show, like I did with the South Korean drama, The Kingdom (hmm, I just set that bar too high, right?) but otherwise, no, no, I can't. The repetition alone is killing me. At this point I feel as though I've watched every single, possible, scenario that they can come up with. There is no wow factor left.
This will be my last post to you, so happy watching, and I enjoyed the chat! Take care.

Thank you, Lilly 1008! Finally, someone's willing to ride with me. And let the church say, Amen.
We'll catch something better next time. I just need them to elevate these dramas a little higher, if they're hoping to reel me in, because, although I like cdramas, it's hard to watch them at this level, after you come from Peaky Blinders, and The Crown, and Parasite and The Handmaiden, and Dark, and Insecure and I could go on and on. It's 2020. Sorry, we expect more. Stay safe, Lilly! :)

Sigh......Well, I guess this is somebody's fantasy. It's not mine. I'm not their target audience. They want foreign viewers, but they're not ready for me. I've stumbled drunkenly into the wrong party. But don't worry. I'mmmmm going to get myself out!
It's 2020. You are mistaken, the drama is not set in 2020 but olden days.If people here are that thirsty for Xiao…
Hi Bibi. You came for me so early in the morning. I haven't even had coffee yet. :) Let me address the charges you've laid against me..... I am well aware that this drama is not set in 2020. Yet, this is a 2020 audience, that just had a #Metoo movement, and knows what strong, powerful, female characters SHOULD look like, because they're out here living their lives in this mass universe. And, they have conversations with their girlfriends, and they watch movies, and they're trying to raise their daughters/sisters to not be tools in the hands of a man.
Now, if you're a good writer, you would know how to stay within the era, and yet adapt. Li Qin doesn't have to put on Gucci boots, or cornrow her hair, or replace her bedsheets with a heated comforter. but I darn well expect her to wisen up a lot faster, because it's 2020 and we want BETTER female characters, and we have seen "this" a thousand times before.
Two. I never mentioned that Xiao Zhan fans were skewing the ratings or trying to cause trouble. I said that they shouldn't tolerate a subpar drama and the psychological and sexual abuse in it, just to eyeball their idol for 49 episodes. A03 is moot. No one cares about all of that. I don't. And, being thirsty for an actor doesn't mean that you will rate the drama. I thoroughly enjoyed the heck out of Darren Wang, thought he was adorable as a young Wolfie, but me and my mouse... we haven't voted yet. Why? Because I realize that this drama is not aimed towards me, so why ding it in the ratings.
But, thank you for your reply. I hope I wasn't too harsh. :)
I stopped at episode 26. I can go no further. I'd rather be tickle tortured to death. This drama is juvenile. I can't tell you how many times I rolled my eyes like a teenager. It's 2020. Why are FL's still being shoved up against the tree? And sexually harassed (for the FL's benefit, none the less, because her IQ's so low a normal conversation would absolutely befuddle her). Come on, come on. Give me a break!
Now Darren Wang is FINEEEEEE to look upon, and I'm surprised to see him, because usually the cdrama men are soft, delicate, flowers. So... that was nice : ). But the plot was so weak, and gappy, and Ji Choong so annoying (like a meddlesome old granny) that at some point even Darren's manliness couldn't save this drama. He's a good actor, though. I hope to see him in something else more fleshed out. Good luck, brother.
I liked the music. I liked Ma Jing in the beginning, but soon they dumbed her down just like Xinger. What a shame! And can they please, please, PLEASE, stop from calling Xinger smart, cause if she's smart I'm an intellectual fire beast! Smart women lift their heads up out of the sand and say, "Hey, this fella might actually not be Wolfie anymore, LIKE HE SAID." Smart women don't get up out of the bed that they were sexually victimized on and reach for the man's hand to COMFORT HIM. And smart women grow. Did she grow up? I don't think so. No, no, no, no. She's still 10.
Good luck to ALL you women out here who are enjoying this drama. But ask yourselves why. Is this what love is supposed to look like, even if this is only an "entertainment drama?" Art imitates life. And some of the toxicity in this drama is not cool. You can't be that thirsty for Xiao Zhan that you'll put up with anything,....can you???????? Because all the forward thinking, timely, excellent writing shows out there (Netflix, Hulu, Korean movies etc.) should have you ladies saying, "Oh my gosh, how did I get caught up in this hot mess?"
Wishing you all the best for the rest of this year. You've earned it just by helping me out. Bye! :)
Take care and happy holidays to you, whatever that will look like. :)
