the way this show just continuously manages to avert the pitfalls of common tropes. fucking amazing.
- ofc sang sik was a real one. WHY WOULD HE. mans didnt even need to be double agent he just straight up refused bc won is his best buddy (in denial) - ofc guwon was no nonsense about the scandal situation, just like he's been about everything else so far. when he appeared in the elevator outta nowhere 😭speak up king!!! - "from the day i met you, my world has been full of you. i don't deserve someone like you." BRB CRYING. i dont want any "green flag male lead" lists if it doesn't include guwon thank you - i like that won's father isn't against them because of who sarang is, it's because he's jaded and pessimistic it will work out because in his case, it didn't. - mi na can go fuck herself lol - SARANG'S COLLEAGUES! i know they're friends already but i just love how sweet and caring they were, genuinely wanting sarang to get rest because they knew the situation would wear her down. they've come a long way!! might've shed a tear omg - "it's not a scandal. it's a love story." <3 - hwaran is so far gone it's just sad. at least now it's clear - her father's favoritism over won and her resentment over her dad's remarriage fucked her up BIG TIME. i feel a little bad for her, but she's brought herself to this point, and now her son suffers from the very same problem that she suffered from. - soooo happy we got to see grandma again!!! she's such a tsundere i love her so much. dying at how he took wons hand and softly told him she'd kill him if he makes sarang cry LOL. also the entire granny neighborhood treating won like some kind of celebrity and getting his signature😂 - daeul's in-laws joining her side is something i did absolutely not expect??? still hate them though - WE GOT THE DAMN AMUSEMENT PARK DATE AND THEY WERE SO CUTE DRESSED UP AS HIGH SCHOOLERS WTH. DONT EVEN KNOW WHY THEY DID THAT BUT ITS SO SILLY AND I LOVE IT. - sarang obviously still struggles to speak up when it comes to her feelings and man i feel that. even if you have someone by your side who loves you dearly and encourages you, it can be hard to shake off a habit that you've curated your whole life. it's very realistic and i feel so bad because i relate to her so much. and won was just about to visit her when his mom came back!!!!!!!!!! MADAM THIS IS THE WORST TIMING
ik no one cares but i can't stop thinking about this omg gu won talking about the flaws of the "casual employment" part that hwaran thinks should be implemented..... high turnover rate is never good especially in the hospitality industry of all, where it's already dreadfully above what's considered normal. the place i worked at had fewer full-timers than contractual staff & trainees and it absolutely does affect service quality like that's just the truth.

omg thank you for posting this!! i've been wanting to put this into words for the longest time but this nails it. i'm lowkey tired of ppl shitting on won because really? his approach is a new and fresh one and one that finally puts the employees at the forefront!! it's just so rare that it's almost unwelcome. almost nonexistent irl because it kind of goes against the traditional rules of capitalism. what he wants is simple: happier employees, which makes for a "happier" business that makes more money. and this has literally been proven irl, workers that are happier are automatically more productive. there's studies on this when this is something that shouldn't even NEED studies, because really it's just common sense. but capitalism sadly doesn't work like that. hwaran's king group, like you said, might bring in the profits but will ultimately not be a company that people will be happy to work for. sure she keeps the business afloat, but her methods and strategies aren't all that. sorry to those who still think she deserves the company instead of guwon. there are enough real world examples for how her approach isn't good for the employees, and the company in extension, in the long run. it's unrealistic if we're honest yeah, someone in won's position would probably not be like him at all. instead of the swoony romance, this is where KTL really becomes a "fantasy" to me lol. but that's what this drama is for, so i also agree with you that at least in a fantasy like this, let's have the big corporation be handled by someone who actually cares!
JUST FINISHED EP 13 AND IM DYING THIS DRAMA BAMBOOZLED EVERYONE 😂 my rambles below
- i loooove how everyone was expecting to be hit with the angst-truck only to have won and sarang be insanely normal (???? i love them so much) about the whole situation, like they really said dramatic ep 13 breakup? i hardly know her. alright won was hella stressed though, i was feeling for him. KTL always switches up the perspective with a new ep, last week we ended it with feeling shocked in sarang's stead, this week we start with worrying in won's. he was ON EDGE before sarang went all "huh? wdym breakup what makes you think that" 😂 as if she was talking at all the viewers who doubted them lmao.
- the whole ep was just mostly wholesome!!! sarang interacting with hwaran's son jihu was so damn adorable. he's really a little guwon, pretending he's all mature and fine but really is just missing his mom to death, who, sadly does not give a good god damn about him. i love that guwon took sarangs words to heart and approached jihu, told him he doesn't have to hold everything in and that he has to be honest with himself. who knows, hwaran may be on her well way to madness with how blinded she is by ambition, but her son speaking up for himself might make her second guess if this was all worth it. i'd be pleasantly surprised if they redeem her, even if just a little.
- daeul catching her wackass of a husband redhanded was amazing and i wish nothing but the worst for him! <3
- I LOST IT AT GU WON KEEPING THE BROKEN CARP IN A FRAME HE'S SUCH A LEWSER I LOVE HIM 😭😭😭 and with that awkward pic of the both of them too i can't
- i didn't expect the housekeeping lady to be behind the letter! it makes sense though. i'm guessing won's mom left on her own accord? with how he reacted it can't be anything good though. he says he's done with it now, but it's absolutely still weighing him down :(
- all of guwon and sarang's scenes together continue being way too fucking adorable: her visiting him working late (i better not see any comments abt his work ethic anymore lol. mans hard at work) <333 them hanging out with jihu <333 him asking to eat together after feeling down bc of his mom, the couple pyjamas <333
- the ending 💀 hate how this ep calmed my worries from last week and then ends with an even more worrisome cliffhanger. IT BETTER NOT BE YOU SANGSIK BEHIND THAT CAMERA
- also we were /extremely/ close to a bed scene too, sadly cockblocked by the kid. rip
