exactly!! There have been so many immortal-mortal dramas before, and they do show the depth of issues but not like this one. This is the realest one I've seen so far. I understand and feel for both the characters.
Can I just say, I love how we are getting to know EVERYTHING about the leads before they get together. their fears and inhibitions. Because this isn't a chill drama. Their gap is so wide, and to be together, they have to cross this divide which isn't easy at all. And they're doing a great job making us feel that. Duan Xu is only an infant compared to Si Mu,so we saw so much of his background before 10eps ended. But she's got so much more baggage, responsibilities and concerns that they're not easily resolved. I'm loving these little details and consistencies soso much
We learnt so much about Simu's desires and fears in these episodes!! Also love how in this drama the characters aren't shown all powerful, like ML is clearly struggling in void where everyone else is more powerful than him. His lack of experience and naivety show clearly in front of hundreds of years old spirits. Many people aren't liking this weakness but I personally think it adds to the story.
