For anyone deciding to drop it because of the Ai - give it a try. It's literally just... maby up to 5 min in the whole show (not including the intro). I will say that those fragments were hard to get into and it'd be an interesting way to show flashbacks if those scenes were animated by an artist - it wouldn't require getting child actors for these scenes and it would make it a lot nicer to watch. Honestly instead of watching these scenes, I just found them awkwardly funny from those uncanny, weird, animated facial expressions.
The first 2 eps can be slightly confusing - I think they could've presented the timeline better, or given some more context about what was going on (although the description on mdl is enough I guess). It did make it kind of difficult for me to see the leads' chemistry (in the beginning!) , since I didn't understand their relationship dynamic, but that could also be a me problem.
Without giving any spoilers, the second half of the last ep did feel weird and some things the leads did felt out of character. I do feel like there were some loopholes/continuity errors every now and then (why do you change clothes halfway through a date without anyone addressing it? Unless I missed something haha).
In general, it's definitely a series I could recommend. Some parts do feel slightly off, but I enjoyed the concept and the limited amount of over the top cliches (which drive me mad in most straight or lgbtq /bl series).
It was confusing at the beginning - I had no clue what they were showing us and what was going on, but it all started making sense after a while.
I found it hard to keep up at times, but not because of the serie itself. The only sub I found that was legible, was most likely a direct translation. The characters usually said "me, I, myself" when referring to someone else, so I needed more time to get who and what they were referring to, which messed me up, especially when the conversations were more dynamic.
I loved Makiko, he was such an interesting character to me. Loved how empathetic and expressive he was.
Aoki and Suzuki were shockingly different to me by the end. I even began wondering if they were played by different actors.
Honestly, I need more series like this😭 all the actors did a great job, I felt so much with each case. They sucked me in, which doesn't happen often
I'll just have to hope that someone subs it someday then xd

I'm not sure how it was in the novel, but apparently the ending was rushed too. It would've been nice if the series added something to the story at the end. Especially more Gao Tu and SWL, I need more of them. It feels incomplete. I'd love to see more backstories to their lives too.
But all in all, I loved it. I've always stayed far away from omegaverse so at first I felt that I'd skip it. After seeing clips from the series on shorts, I decided to give it a try. I don't regret it at all - it's one of the best bls I've watched (but I need more GT and SWL😭.
