ep. 6 &7 scenes with Dr. "Ian Chase" super annoying; I intensely dislike the darker makjang murderer twin mystery. Maybe I should wait till its all done and marathon?
I am loving this light comedy so much; as always I am oversupplied with the darker genres like crime, chaebol or political drama. The way they treated the person of color who might have been biracial? I don't know yet; shows a kind of tone deafness in an attempt at humour. The character might have been much improved but that might have required an elevation from a very nativist kind of outlook. Portraying the friend as dirty was a little much, jeeez.
Anyway, I am ep. 5 right now; where are all the light comedies there should be more!
Memory lane: this is the second kdrama I ever watched and I loved every second of it! I gave it a 9.0 but I have reduced that down to 8.0; still its one of my favorite kdrama romcoms ever. The pluses the ML and FL (Yoon Eun Hye) had great chemistry. Her school pals including her frenemy So Ran were excellent. The brother character Sung Joon was very annoying.
Since this was one of my first drama I did not recognize all the tropes and thought they were great! The chinese business man, most of her work related stuff including everyhing with the "minister" in it. The thread with the mopey younger brother and ex-girlfriend could have been cut.
I wanted to see more of Manager Park but that would have been messy. I really liked the dad-daughter interactions.
I did not like that FL became somewhat weaker in the last episode as if making her character better. I missed the fiesty Gong Ah Jong from the beginning! Yoon Eun Hye is still one of my favorite Korean actresses.
Do the lead's acting skills make this really bad, or is the story good enough to overlook the acting?
the acting by all was fine; it was the writing that was weak. Whole episodes later and nothing much had happened. A couple of times I thought they already had that dialog 2 times already. Pretty good show; check it out.
Started with so much potential; then it became boring. This 1000 year old magical being gumiho turns out to be a boring dude in an office. Its as if they made Batman just sit around and blog in the batcave. Nothing is happening for many episodes. Ugh.
What happened to this? SJK speaking Italian in great suits and magnificent backgrounds and Jeon Yeo Bin doing hot lawyer stuff. I must have fallen asleep but the show lost momentum and now I its hard to go back to the dingy mall and its inhabitants.
I liked the cast especially Park Se Wan; kdrama showing how intl k is now by having foreigners speaking korean! Black korean dude was cool. but otherwise really kind of meh...
Gosh I gave up on this drama after not feeling the chemistry between the leads on early episodes and looking at…
Scent of a Woman is one of my TOP 5 dramas of all time. And Kim Sun Ah as the FL. Her other show Kim Sam Soon is probably my very favorite Korean show of all time!
this is a brilliant show, unlike most other drama. I love the pace of the show; there are many reflective moments and sometime a magical slowing down of time since Doom is immortal. Park Bo Young is of course luminous too! Love the side characters too! This is an 8.8 in my book!
I've come back after a couple of months. On ep. 11 now; if you like action thriller with a touch of sci-fi its pretty good. The production values and effects are excellent as are the actors.
To me this could have been a better summer blockbuster movie instead of a series.
I couldn't feel the hype. Seemed like another makjang to me. Song Joong Ki's Italian was off-putting. I don't…
I don't speak Italian (but speak Eng, Fr, and Bn) but I have friends that do and what I liked about SJK is I could make out the words and it sounded Italian. Compared to other dramas with foreign language lines most of the time the French doesn't sound like French. The English is usually terrible; but I am not watching it for that anyway. It may be this was not quite your cup of tea so ...
I really liked both FL; Krystal was really good in this character. I love her line to her boss: your English sounds like you are a Japanese-collaborator with good Korean English vocabulary. Hilarious.
Story plot comes like from previous previous decade...especially when FL meets good grandpa who is CEO...for me…
I would have to agree. The step mom plotting wasn't convincing; I started skipping the plotting parts.
The young Ha Ni was great as were ML, FL, the Chaebol "Grandpa" but it didn't gel. The older brothers role made no sense either in ep. 13. Oh well another one of those had a lot of potential but meh.
