There was serious murder, mayhem and trauma in this many-genred drama. Did it work? It was a mixed bag. There were whole episodes that were warm, funny and to me what the whole drama should have been. Then there was the dark-thriller twins and conspiracy murder and death stuff that really for me reduced the enjoyment of the show.
The cast was terrific. Yes, the ML and FL characters were surprisingly good given all they'd lived through but the whole thing didn't work.
I guess the ambition to create a higher work of art on the part of the writer makes it even more disappointing when it doesn't hang together. There were too many different sub-plots from different genres. Actually, it was good enough to watch the whole thing without skipping; also the opening credits were adorable especially the little tune they played behind the credits.
This drama was very enjoyable! The idol fans template when executed well can result in a good show. The friendship and struggles they showed between the girl group members was good. 12 ep. was a good length for this series.
Its been months but for me it bogged down in ep. 10 and I have not picked it back up. I think I am just going to drop it; I enjoyed it a lot in its first few episodes.
True! 12 years of Kdramas and it still hurts me XD. It's like there is no standards, you are caucasian you got…
Actually this actor seemed way better than that other generic white dude business man. I agree with you that they should stop using white actors as kind of a prop. It never adds anything in any show I have seen. I wonder if its somehow more meaningful for the domestic market.
I stopped at ep. 10 months ago. Watching ep.13-16 was quite good. But the way we got there took away from the whole last half of the show. I might rewatch it in a while.
This drama just... didn't grab me at all.The actors did a good job, but I wasn't very interested in the main couple.Somehow,…
I was really rooting for a light gumiho rom com but after ep. 8 it started getting tedious and repetitive; its still like that in ep.13 so I am going to have to ffwd through to the next ep.14-16 and hope it picks up.
I really enjoyed this; after kind of frowning a little bit in the beginning about the friend in dark face and dreads; but the comedy with Aphrodite-nim was cringey but funny. Saet Byul is SO adorable! Still half way through ep.14 I hope they don't make Saet Byul miserable for too long!
love love love this drama; I didn't recognize Kim Sae Ron from Mirror of the Witch (2016) where she did a phenomenal especially since she was so young! Go KSR!
THe dude is also most excellent. I would love it if this drama were like 45 min ep. I guess I will enjoy more each precious minute!
After ep. 11- it was very much a slow downhill; there were some fine acting turns by all. the layers of trope and cliche made it less and less interesting. The writer let the hacknied plot device of breaking up to save the feelings of a sibling/cousin/friend in love with the same girl take over the next 5 episodes!
This is one of the long list of kdramas that seemed to have so much going for it (particularly the excellent cast) but did not deliver on that promise. Still worth a watch but pretty forgettable. On the other hand it was made during these challenging Covid-19 days so we'll give it a 7.1 and not 6.5.
I watched and enjoyed this drama ep. 1-9 in one afternoon. Its enjoyable enough but lacks plot progression. Also the writing is weak for the coworkers; especially sub-plot with Editor Nam and his "cutie pie." (Nice cameo by Kim So Eun) it was basically did he win the subscrption for the apt or not? For like 6 episodes; come on Chakka-nim!
Its just missing maybe 1-2 points to take it up to 8.5. The FL constantly having nowhere to stay also got old as a plot point.
I really like the normal episodes with the ML & FL. Every time another gruesome thing happens with Dr. Chase or whatever I get annoyed. I think I will either drop it or wait to marathon it later.

This was really good in kind of a throw back, standard plot good people kind of way. You know the city folk and the villagers not getting along.
But the boyz and all the coaches were awesome. Wish the girls team and their coach got a little bit more screen time. Didn't skip but this is perfect for julienne-ing carrots and "watching" a drama.
I liked when the country folk spoke in their dialect. Also ep. 12 was a masterpiece!
12 ep. in and this is the most fun kdrama in a long time; well since Inner Circle anyway. Saeyt Byul's energy is contagious and I love Wookie's mom and dad.
The dark bits with her losing her house did not last too long; perfectly timed in the plot instead of lingering over it for 2-3 ep. as would be usual she moved on with her life and so the fun continued!
I am actually kind of enjoying Mr Fire Volcano and Aphrodite's subplot. Those actors are doing a great gob!
Can't they crank out more light fluffy confections like this? LOVING EVERY SECOND OF IT!

Anyway, I'm off to see the next 7 episodes.
