Title Never Let Me Go Spoiler
In Episode 4, I do not understand why Palm needs to get a job in order to earn enough money to buy a new pair of basketball shoes. As far as I can tell, in Episode 1, Palm's father offered him a "job that may last a lifetime" if he would move to Bangkok in order to protect Nuengdiao. I realize that Palm is getting free shooting lessons, high school, plus room and board. But is there no wage or stipend paid to him to put his life on the line protecting Nuengdiao and also doing many chores around the house? Perhaps poor Palm really is a slave, since he gets no spending money at all unless he gets a side job working in the ballroom dance studio.

What i don't understand is. If the world is endning why are there "criminals" outside killing and hurting people.…
Killing is fun and entertaining for them. They don’t feel guilt for what they’re doing and they’re not afraid of getting arrested because everyone is going to be dead in a week anyway.

I'm just wondering, what year is this show supposed to take place as far as Em's freshman year in college? As he enters Nan's dorm room, he asks to use MSN. He sits down at a computer showing the Microsoft Windows XP desktop wallpaper. XP was released in October 2001. Did Em go to college in the early 2000's, or was it in the 1990's?
