Tony Leung can do no wrong in my book. His nuanced acting is just brilliant. This is the first movie I watched by Wong Kar Wai and with Tony Leung. Fell in love with both immediately. Love love this quirky movie and its stunning visuals.
Overall, this drama was fun to watch, but there were a lot of inconsistencies and unexplained phenomena, especially…
I like the way you said it. The drama is most definitely missing that "epicness" factor. Although you wouldn't be able to convince the legions of fans who are using the words perfect, legendary, and masterpiece to describe the show! ;P
I've been seeing a lot of "I don't understand why so many people like this drama" complaints…
It's called free speech. And the same reasoning applies to you, OP minhsuga. If you don't like it, don't read it. If you only like comments that are positive, then just skip to those. Your argument is circular.
I personally value the diversity in comments. How boring it would be if people only shared opinions that were favorable and without criticism! That's my two cents. Please move on if that's too negative for you.
the last three episodes were kind of a mess... the story was made to have a sad ending but then the goblin suddenly…
LOL that time of the month. Anyway I agree, it was a total mess. Logically, it made no sense, and they didn't bother to explain it. I think you're probably right that it was probably meant to have a tragic ending, but then they changed their minds last minute and decided to go the happy route. They decided to completely ignore their own original story line and slap together some half-assed ending.
They figured people's emotions would overpower their need for a logical story line, and judging by the high ratings and gushing reviews, they were right.

All that being said, however, all in all I still loved it, if not mostly for the awesome and unbearably cute bromance between Gong Yoo and Lee Dong Wook. Their dynamic was way more interesting than the actual boy-girl romance, IMO. GY and LDW are two of my favorite actors, so there you go, I'm totally biased! I give it an 8 out of 10. I'm secretly kind of glad it was a letdown at the end, because otherwise I'd be feeling those post-drama blues!
