the way that she's treated though... obviously she won't leave for multiple reasons, including the Wei's but AChou isn't particularly kind and tends to dump stuff on her unceremoniously etc... I think she deserves better

totally agree except I actually find the absurdity/dramatics of this drama SO funny, idk why but I laugh out loud at least once per episode loll

I'm really enjoying it but it's definitely blood pressure rising with all the scheming and shenanigans. The main actress is incredible and really shines here but I also highly recommend her other recent drama Pursuit of Jade for something with more solidly great characters and chemistry. If you like political intrigue and the FL being clever and conniving , this show is a great watch, the chemistry is tbd at the moment but there are some solid female side characters as well which is great to watch

bro I was rooting for Bitao so hard and she keeps letting us down >_< tbf though achou is supposed to be kind (and yeah she ripped up her papers) but she still treats her like a lowly maid...

I still think it's worth it, especially for the acting and characters - ML and FL learn to trust each other fairly quickly but there's lots of little things (and games) still happening between them for tension plus good side plots and intrigue that probably hasn't been spoiled/would still be really entertaining :) I'm watching new episodes as soon as they drop and have a tendency to get fed up with misunderstanding/communication bs but this show doesn't draw it out or overdo it at all (so far) and I'm actually quite liking the dynamic. Also for other characters, including Lady Li, there's still lots to be uncovered about the truth of FL's circumstances/birth and she's a good enough person and strategist that she is able to navigate the conflicts very cleverly

lmao yeahhh, this is my biggest, and possibly only real problem with this show... Like how did she even learn to read and write, let alone instantly adapt to noble life and etiquette? Good thing the show is so good that it's not even really a problem hehe

I'm obsessed with it atm, the FL actress is INCREDIBLE and the plot is plotting... Also pretty good chemistry between the leads that's building up at a good pace and some really great characters all around (especially the women which I appreciate )

my theory is that FL is Lady Li's actual daughter and the stupid evil one is the aunt's, possibly in an affair? I really hope there's a good payoff though.... the suspenseeeeee!

looks like it's only confirmed 2/day until episode 14 (according to Netflix's release schedule at least) and there are some good cliff hangers, so prolly smart to wait lol

idk that little hand hold when Lady Li was bugging them at the palace seemed like the start of some fr feelings imo. he's totally more whipped though lol
